  1. Have you made up your mind yet Brian or is it a secret? I've got a parts book for a reekie 5154 (the same as Murphys ran). There's very detailed side and front/rear views in it. It'd make scaling alot easier. You can borrow them if they'd be any use to you.
  2. working on this project myself at the minute. how much did you cut out of yours. I went for 14mm to leave it the same width as the harvester. To scale this makes the header just under 3.5 meters.
  3. Thanks Jamie, I made the 7840 last year. I've a few finishing touches to do then I'll get some photos up.
  4. yes, this method worked quite well. The way I did it was sellotape the 2/3 'belts' to a sheet of paper at the correct distance apart. Then marked along the 'belts' with a pencil where every bar was to go. Then they were ready to glue on. I cut the 'bars' slightly long then trimmed them with a knife after they were glued. Still need to stick the flaps onto elevator web but they're not here yet.
  5. The 'belts' are a flat profile 1.5 x 0.3mm and the 'bars' are 0.3mm diameter rod. All plastruct from EMA. The thought of starting them was actually worse than doing it. Just took a bit of time.
  6. It's 1.5 x 0.3mm plasticard. It's quite flexible.
  7. Also got the main web made and the web for the cart elevator. These parts were very time consuming.
  8. Haven't got much done during the spring cause we were flat out with the good weather. I've been back at it the last couple of weekends. Got a couple of guards made, the inside panels and the web drives.
  9. probably get the webs brass etched although i haven't priced it yet. or else i'll break a ros gt170 for them. i'll get some photos up soon of the 7840. Its a conversion i did last year, its based on my own tractor with the front linkage + pto and the big mirrors.
  10. This is my first scratch build. Its going to be a Grimme Variant DL 1700 when it's finished. There's a lot of work to do yet. I'm taking the measurments from one of my own harvesters.
