  1. Here's my new hedgecutting outfit. I converted a Britains IH 956XL to 2wd and was going to fit a Spearhead Orbital on the back, but it didn't look right. So I had a go at mid mounting it and here are the results.
  2. The forager looks great. The paint rely Set's it off.
  3. I Haven't rely got enough time to convert a forager as I spend all day repairing Tractors and are up to my eyeballs in converting Britains IH 956 and 1056XL's! Like I said great looking conversion and look forward to seeing it compleated.
  4. Looking Good! You are better man than me converting your own, I cheated and brought one off Ebay!
  5. All I can say is WOW! Love the classic tractors.
  6. Thanks guys for the kind comments! I used Siku JD 6920 wheels. I drilled out the molded hub flush with the rim so I could fit the original hubs. As the wheels are larger the cab had to be raised and I cut the front fenders off. The bonnet was extended and the grill for the top made out of Plasruct. Then plainted. The extended air intake is off a MF 2680. The cab steps also had be modified to allow the wheels to fit. I'm going to make a IH 1455XL next.
  7. Here's a few photo's of my first tractor conversion. Up till now the only converting I have done is to fit beacons and aerial on so I decided to try and convert a Britains Case IH 1056XL in to a mighty Case IH 1455XL! So here are the photo's I know it is not prefect but see what you think.
  8. Yes I find weathering very addictive and have done most of mine. You don't have to go over the top and plaster them mud. The Tamiya weathering master kits are good for 'dirtying' up the model to the shine off. Then some rust coloured paint on the ares that will rust. That's what I used on my UH 7810.
  9. If you are worried about ruining your models why not practise on a old model or one you wont mind ruining. Have a go and don't get carried away.
  10. We use to have a few through the workshop at work when I frist started but now only work on one Case IH 956XL and she's rough :'( We did have this IH 1056XL part exchanged last year very tidy, if I had the money I would of brought her!
  11. Thanks for the pointers. I try ed to put the 'dirt' in between the rubber tread but as it dried it seamed to rum off. I will try a thicker mixture next time. I try ed to weather the exhaust as it wouldn't be white if the tractor is a few years old. I have found some pictures of IH956's some have black enamel exhaust which have dulled due to the heat of the engine and others seam to have badly rusted exhaust which would be right?
  12. Done some slight modifications to my Britains IH 956Xl fitted beacon, aerial and made it look like it has done a hard days work.
  13. Thanks guy's. I'm from Lincs,Leics,Notts border. We don't sell many tractors last year 5 and a combine. Should of taken my camera today as I went out to a DF TTV 630 200hp cvt gear box with electronic problems. Probably one of the best tractors I have driven and I am not just saying it because I work for a Deutz dealer! The job, long hours, getting covered in oil, grease , muck etc To hot, to cold etc We have been short staffed for the last 18 months and traveling further away to customers means a lot of driving but have just had a brand new van! would I change jobs? NO!
  14. Couple of hours a night for a week. Tyred hard not to over do it.
  15. Hello! I have posted a few times but thought I better introduce myself. My name's Ben I am 28 and ever since I can remember I have been mad on tractors. I started driving them at 13 and left school to do a 3 year agricultural engineer apprenticeship. I work as a mobile agricultural engineer for a Deutz Fahr and Manitou dealer working mainly on Manitou's. Always had Britains tractors when I was younger and started collecting them again a couple of months ago. So spend all day taking big tractors apart and all night taking small tractors apart!
  16. I broke the step off by accident so glued it back on to look bent.
  17. Here are a few photos of my slightly modified Ford 7810.
