  1. Just a little near end of year update to the goings on @ Orchard Farm and Green Hill dairy , potatoes still getting sent out up to Branstons potatoes , one of the umbilical teams are going non stop to local farms , the manure spreading teams also in high demand when the weather allows , Back at Orchard hq the young calves have been sorted and are now on our own rations , down at Green Hill dairy all the cows are settled in for the winter and are adjusting to there rations , Few things in the pipeline after the new year tractor & machinery wise , looking forward tosee next year brings
  2. The weeks ending slightly damp just as we were on the last 75 acres of drilling for this year , hedgecutting started on our own grass paddocks whilst the ground was holding up well , Back at Orchard Farms HQ the 2nd new Mf 8s arrived at the beginning of last week just as the 1st one clocked up enough hours for her 1st service which was carried out by our local MST dealers ! Potatoes still going out at a steady flow up to branstons , starting to find some space in the cold store now , with the weather starting to look like it's on the change , a decision will probably be made as to when the cows come in full time !
  3. Been a busy few weeks at orchard hq & Green hill , 3rd cut silage complete , corn harvest finally all finished , just a few acres of beans to get off ! Autumn cultivations now underway with stubble cultivation and ploughing underway , the new MF 8s seems to be performing well , looking at possibly purchasing another soon rather than!after to fill the tractor void ! On the new arrival front the new Amazone drill turned up at the end of last week replacing our old lemken , yesterday the demo JCB came in hitched up to our new Richard larrington trailer , all ready for maize ! Foragers back in the yard for few tweaks before back in to the maize next week after some awful weather the last couple days , spud digging well underway and going well so far
  4. Little update ! 2 nd silage team getting all the equipment ready for 2nd cut , hopefully within the next few days we can get going , 2 new additions just arrived in the last week thought we try the new 8s and also it was time to replace the old plough ,along came a nice ex demo amazone , so onwards and upwards as the wheels keep on turning
  5. Your gonna have to invest in more yard space soon Dave ! Top work though
  6. Been a long time since last post and a lot has changed at Orchard Farms ltd , Green Hill dairy has now been expanded to a include brand new all purpose yard constructed to adjoining ground , new machinery and workshop sheds have now been erected aswell as a new weighbridge , not only that but we are in the middle of erecting a new grain shed with incorporated tipping pit and built in dryer , this should all work along the old grain store and weighbridge back at Orchard Farm HQ , On the machinery front lots of changes with old kit going out and new coming in ,major slurry tankers as this was much needed purchase with the amount of slurry we are now handling , ktwo silage trailers coming into the fleet ,numerous tractors have changed besides other bits and bobs , dairy herd now at Green Hill dairy now up to over 350 after a good sort out of cows leaving the herd and replacements coming in , Hopefully few more updates coming along when time prievels
