Thanks he seems a quite content little fella really, next step will be to see how he likes or doesn't like being in the tractor... 

Since Gemma sadly lost her Jack Russell earlier in the year, after having her from a pup to almost 14 years old ,she finally decided it was time to get another little 4 legged friend, so we picked him up today, born on the 11th of June whilst we were at Newby Hall tractor fest i'd like to introduce you to Hamish, a West Highland terrier/ Poodle cross, and I've already got him on the right path of what breed of tractors to keep too, afterall being a westie and native breed of Scotland there's no other real choice than one of Bathgates finest 😂

That's not good Smithy.... Will keep putting you back abit...  Hopefully fingers crossed you can get back cutting again soon.... We had a bit of a explore of the local area yesterday and there were at least 4 crews cutting... All seemed to be chopping straw bar one which was being baled with a big Deere and what looked to be a big Claas Quadrant... Apart from the H&M and a West on the farm we staying on the trailer of choice round here seems to be Bailey and Harvesters are predominantly Class, but there's a dealer not far from Alford that we passed so parts and service be handy. They started again leading the box muck in at 6 am this morning so I'm wondering if it'll get spread this week and then ploughed in... When we got back yesterday they were leading grains back, Kramer was pushing them in maybe a trailer load every hour or so but had stopped by about half 10.

Looks to be a Kramer telehandler, a pair of Claas tractors and the fastrac but this morning there's been a second fastrac and a claas with a loader on it both pulling bailey dump trailers loaded with box muck and carting it in to the ground that got harvested last night... I'm thinking farm is split and the other farm is the beef unit 

Nice morning Just sat outside having my first coffee of the day and a few minutes with the crossword when there's a rumbling coming down the farm track..... me thinks this is a different fastrac to the one on the corn cart....

Aye John, I only found out whilst we were up at flookburgh.... Shame really our tractors would have bolstered the turnout in both stables.... Yep it was good to see that the buildings still in use even though it's not their intented first use... It's sad that Bathgate got flattened for housing... Alot of industrial heritage has gone to the crusher... Even the small dealer workshops have ended up that way... Bit like Hudson's 

Then funny enough the cottage we have booked is on a farm, so I had a quick wander about...... Few bits of kit knocking about including a lexion, big Case, Claas and a Fastrac that looks as if there's a demountable sprayer for... Not seen any handling equipment but was surprised to see the old rotavator just sat rusting and even more surprising found an old Scamell lowloader at the back of the yard

On holiday in Lincolnshire for a few days so called in at Gainsborough on route to drop by Marshalls Yard, the site of the Britannia works and Marshall built the steam traction and ploughing engines before getting into the single cylinder and later multi cylinder engine tractors before taking on the Leyland wheeled tractor business after the demise of British Leyland. Was good to see the buildings still standing and restored to being repurposed to a shopping centre. It was a good feeling thinking about the hours that would have been served there by truly skilled engineers and the years of apprenticeships served back when British engineering was famous throughout the world and the great was great in great Britain. Id have loved to have visited back in the day when production was in full swing but it's good to have visited the place that our 804 once stood and many of our friends tractors had stood also.

Wouldn't have been the longest of runs at 25 miles Smithy but would have been some great scenery going over the nick o Pendle and coming back through Newchurch and Barley... bloke on the Fergy climbing the hill with the valley in the background is Mick Fox who organises the run.

Whilst we were up at Flookburgh, it was our local Pendle witch Tractor Run, a friend sent me these photos that he got before set off and along the route .. pity we weren't there to join in but you can't be in two places at once.....but some how think that along with John (JMD) and Matt, with their 8340 and 802 and our 472 and 804 would have fit right in with the tractors entered on the 25 and a bit mile circular run round Pendle hill 

Meanwhile I went in search of Thomas Blade's Marshalls in the working area.....and Andrew Graham's tidy Scania 😉

Gemma fancied having a go at a display herself up at Cumbria steam gathering last weekend... So she had a bit of lambing going on with a handful of Leylands to provide the farms power......
