  1. Very nice pics JCB Bloke !!

    That 3350 looks mint :-*

Great to see theres some old'uns earing their keep there as well.

I see you're in Yorkshire - Have the Sugdens off Emmerdale expanded into Contacting   :D

    My thoughts exactly. ::)

  2. Well boys... your kit is simply stunning... a real credit to you...

I guess it's not really that surprising that most of FTF's 'REAL' farmers/contractors own such stunningly kept kit...  I suppose it follows that a linking for models menas a similar appreciation for the real thing...

I was just sitting here thinking about all the great, well kept and lovely working machines we see on here... this post being an A Typical example.  Then there is JDC, Hody21's dad, Mike (Sparrow), Colm... etc. etc. etc.

I've never been involved in Silage before... I'm now grit determined to get some experience in... and it's all your fault Stephen and Chris  >:(:D :D

That can be arranged......100 acres you could start tommorow Marky. Hope that new thing of yours is 40K. :P

  3. Only a few hours ago myself and Nick were talking about this gem of a tractor.

It looks awsome!! I'll be needing to have one of them. 8) 8)

    No pipe on the hood?

The exhaust pipe is an extra which come wrapped up in the box, as with the mirrors, beacon and indicator stalks.....just hasn't been assembled. ;)

  4. For 2 acres you'll only need some small kit I guess Will... you can pick up old fergie stuff dirt cheap these days.... I'm n0 farmer myself... but I'd recommend you'd need.....

    A ridger...

A planter - the sit on ferguson one would be good for 2 just 2 acres - the wheel drivern one I mean...

A 'hoover' to lift the spuds...

A back belt when you keep bending down to pick them up...

    A link box...

A sprayer - essential I guess if you want a reasonable yield  :-\

Hmm, how cheap is dirt cheap? ::)

  5. Basically I have been given a 2 acre paddock to graze, however it's right next to a pikey encampment, so obviously darn't put stock in it, so instead I've made hay of it the last few years, however I fancy a change for 2009. The plan is to have a late crop off of it this year, spray it and plough it up. I fancy doing some spuds in it and I really have no experience in this field what so ever, so any help in what machinery to get would be greatly appreciated, however I don't want to spend a busting lot as it's only 2 acres by the time I've taken 2 dog legs out of the field, which I shall keep grass, as with the perimeter of the field, which will all be topped regularly to look smart.

    Thanks in advance. :)

  6. Ancient system that has only been changed in the last 6 months meant that I had a 5 month wait and then it was cancelled for another month

Really p!ssed me off by the end of it

    Yeah I can imagine. :o

Well done Farmer Wilberforce... won't be long now then mate - Eeeee I remember the day when I first got my licence... best feeling of your life... well... that and having kids...  ;)

Thanks Marky, I am looking forward to it, as it'll give me so much more freedom with the awkward 2 home situation. :);) ;)

  7. Couple of snaps from this weekend, cleared out the cattle shed and carted the muck to the other farm. Nice to see the old man washing the kit off when he's done.....

Manitou with the muck fork the old chap picked up for it the other week, ex-grab with short tines, 6' wide, ideal for what we want...

Why didn't you go for a grab then? When we bought our Albutt it was like the new generation of clearing muck, as it cuts the muck in layers, without pulling it, making it a far quicker and cleaner job. :-\ :);)
