You've just reminded me I should have both of those, and the 2wd versions in the loft somewhere.

Hi Jeff, welcome along. Sorry to hear of your loss, difficult times I'm sure.
That's a great collection, it displays well. Did your dad work in the construction industry and collect models of machines he'd seen or used? I'm not well up on construction gear but I' sure others will be able to identify what machines and trucks you have.
Personally, if there is room to store or display, then I'd keep it and then could be passed on to the next generation perhaps. If that's not an option then there are specialist toy/model auction houses that could aid in dispersal for you. Unfortunately it's a decision only you can make.
Rob.

If it was a kit to print, could you not reverse print the interior parts for rhd?

Last ones for now...
A bit disappointed with the 500 Era book. Lots of info inside, and lots of pictures. But editor please note... Not only are some of the pictures duplicated in different chapters, many have been reversed - which on the face of it may not be noticeable apart from the huge back-to-front MF on the bonnet sides, and excepting the fact that the subject of the topic is invariably a single door machine with the door clearly on the wrong side. One picture is even upside down.
Put this in to test the crazy level!

In the Stuart Gibbard County book, there's a picture of a crawler upside down in the road. The building behind it is the old Fleet police station. Couldn't have chosen a worse place!

Couldn't tell you the age of mine, all I do know is - as with most of my Britains - it's mostly in 'straw' boxes.

Interesting. I got mine new, definitely no rubber band. The bales were dispatched through the bottom of the bale chamber and under the tail. I just assumed 'artistic licence' and never queried it. Then the NH was released with the walkers and bale sledge.

Hi Paul, just curious as I have a Bamfords baler somewhere but I don't remember a rubber band?

Transit flat bed, three on board, two milk churns and bolt croppers in the back - tow more than just your fuel bowser...😉

The Scalextric L322 RR is nice in silver but obviously not a pick up.

Majorette do/did have a Ford F350, or it's a rebuild of the Britains service truck perhaps?

Went to the Silchester charity tractor run this evening. We would have participated if we'd known it was on, only found out yesterday and no trace on any of the (very limited) advertising of a contact for the organisers to see if joining in was possible.
The fact that the end meeting venue was charging £12 (no, not a misprint - twelve!) for just a burger was a straightforward ripoff. I hope some of that goes back to the charities.
Rant over..

Just glanced over the shelf with the Britains 595 on it, and sat next to my 1/24 Touran and 1/25 P38 got me wondering...
Dived into the Massey handbook then using a scale converter discovered the 595 makes a very close match to a 550 - in 1/28! So close.
I'll have to get a photo of them together in 1/1 and compare.

Hi Cathy,
Would this be of a tractor you have seen somewhere or maybe one you or a relative may have used?
Do you have a size or scale in mind? Toy or collectable maybe? Any particular version perhaps?
-
So close! 1983-6 we ran 3 grasshoppers behind tweaked Ford 9700s. Superbly simple machines, ours were all green.

Don't know if this will work, I'm sure this is the location of the last pic today. Same building, new cladding.

I see UH do a 148, so if they have the chassis... might have to wait and see.

I remember (just!) being on my way to school along Albert Street and seeing the sparkly new lime green rigid FC dumper being driven out of what I believe was the design shop behind the original offices in Upper Street.

That last pic - How the hell do you decide what to dig or where to drive???

What have you been doing or plan on doing today?

Drained, flushed, and replaced the coolant in the 550. Now trying to clear up the remains of the brown sludge that came out! Needed doing though.
