  2. if any of the chat on other forums, fwi or mags like profi are anything to go by the scorpions are the best around although probably the dearest of handlers there well worth the extra. you should check some of the stuff out on fwi, some makes intresting reading  ;)

  3. Mullahead ploughing match is a better crack. Tractor pulling and there is plenty of action at the ploughing..

i didnt get the impression the topic was started to determine which day out was the best, Fintona is a machinery show, Mullahead is a ploughing match you cant really compare the two...

oh and its 'craic' not 'crack'

  4. snow and ice  >:( started the day slipped with bucket of meal flying everywhere.  then a few tractors weren't to keen to start. boss couldn't get backed up the yard to feed, ended up jack knifing and bending the pto shaft. Water troughs and pipes were frozen had to carry boiling water to them, not easy on icey yards. the milk lorry got stuck coming up the yard, driver found this highly amusing... me not so much  :-\ then discovered mains into the farm house was frozen, tracks had to be cut and dug to bury new pipes... between frozen clay and rocks even the 3cx struggled, an hour long job took several  >:( to list but a few of my annoying problems today  :( :'(

  5. apparently without a swivel hitch you have a bit more resistance from over turning whereas if it can swivel it'll just go on over. The dealer said that one he sold, redrock, over turned and the driver said it wouldnt have happened if the hitch hadnt been a swivel  :-\ as the previous tanker with standard eye never gave any trouble  ???

  6. sections would be a good idea right enough dont know why there not done though  ??? NC, Herbst and redrock would be at the top of my list and strangely enough hispec and major at the bottom  :-\ ??? but thats opinion and my uncle used to work with a major and said it was the worst tanker ever (2000 gallon)  :of

  7. nice winter pics there  ;) decent fleet an all  ::)

shame about the mud guard, if you do decide to change it i can strongly recommend Dunlop Dunlo-flex mudguards, we replaced all ours to these even though there were in reasonable condition.  ???

  8. for sheet plastic i use a heavy duty paper guillotine (1.5mm sheets about its limit  ::) ) , its fine for large pieces but tends to curl up smaller strips. had to make my own tool for the small strips (like a guillotine). to put an angle on the edge of a sheet i just run the edge of the knife along at desired angle, works pretty well.  :)

as for cutting rods and box, i have one of them chopper II's but they leave a bad shape, just have to buff it of  :-\
