  1. Well me little mate Trizzy Rascal....

I managed to convince my dad who was due a free upgrade to order me the Defy so I can tell you a bit more soon...

    But first impressions are:

    1: Excellent packaging..

    2: Lighter than an iPhone

3: Farmer proof, nice to see ALL connections are sealed with a rubber cap

4: charger is a USB charger from computer or the wall adapter

    5: Screen seems nice

6: Nice to have more than just the home button on the front

7: All external controls are the same as the iPhone - volume, screen lock etc but NO big connector at the bottom for straw and dust to get in....

8: (and probably best) it feels like i could through it into a cab fro the ground and not worry about it....  i will look at it in more detail when charged..  want to know if the screen will work with wet fingers etc...

My advice.... this is a new farmers phone.....

  2. well actually a 6930 is 180hp when the boost kicks in, but otherwise its 155, so i should say a 6830 is between 135-145

    Seven Premium Models*

    6230P – 74 kW/85 kW (100 hp/115 hp)

    6330P – 81 kW/92 kW (110 hp/125 hp)

    6430P – 92 kW/103 kW (125 hp/140 hp)

    6534P – 92 kW/107 kW (125 hp/145 hp)

    6630P – 99 kW/114 kW (135 hp/155 hp)

    6830P – 107 kW/125 kW (145 hp/170 hp)

    6930P – 114 kW/132 kW (155 hp/180 hp)

The latter HP figure is with boost....

  3. I guess it can... but I suspect the most financially viable option for that acreage would be to have a contractor in.  You have to take into account all the other cost factors and investment... like spare tractors, trailers, workforce.... and of course storage and loading equipment.

Each case would have to be treated on it's own merits I guess.. so it's wrong of me to make sweeping statements.

Also... if you do have a contractor in, you may need to widen your field gateways and roadways etc.

Wellll it's all a bit of (see below) really isn't it...........

  4. john deere 6800, i have a feeling they are 140hp, will find out from a friend ! :)

    About 120ish.

I used to plough with a 6610 Deere and 5 furrow Kuhn on 18" furrows.

Yea thought that over again you may be right because 6830s are about 160 hp

Well wrong above. The 6830 is still only about 130-140 ish

  5. Tris.... Have you seen the Motorola Defy??

I looked at it and to be honest i was well impressed as I am forever dropping the phone etc...

I was a bit put off with the fact that if you crack the iphone screen it is very expensive (if possible) to get it fixed.

The motorola offers more or less the same features as an iphone really....

Have a look mate, it is beetch, pool and dancefloor proof!! ah ha... right up your party lifestyle street!!

  6. Isn't the Ros TX66 a bit out of scale?

Also it is annoying that you need to remove the feeder house too with the header..

I would naturally go for the John Deere (also known by the unfunny slightly outdated joke where some replace the deere with a Q)

Truely claasic machine but for a machine with nice details it would be the dominator model.

Only problem with using a 600 Lexion as marky says is the access... maybe the fields are small and not accessible with such a big machine.

  7. ;D

Wow... quite a impressive start mate and I have to say all the credit goes to you mate!! There are many here who would roll around on the floor laughing at the fact you asked Tris and I for help.... A small man a brokeback cowboy...

    Anyway.

Looks a great start mate an as Scot says you won't go short of people to help you out on this forum.

One other piece of advice is maybe build up some of it in dry before glueing it together.

Keep up the good work and welcome to the model farm buildings club!

  8. It looks like fun mate... I know Bill Richardson has a shop full of Proxxon stuff which he reckons is simply first class.  I can't wait to see what you make with it... must do some superbly accurate work on the repetitive stuff like roof trusses  :-\

Traci doesn't have an older sister does she mate ???:P .. Diane bought me socks and a scarf  >:(:-[

HA HA HA... LMAO (laugh my ass off)

Marky you make me laugh mate..... You could take the grandma, she got the blades, maybe next is the saw itself?

    :of::):P:-X;D
