maybe wheels on the back would help. Like the big combine headers in the USA have. Or duals on the forager maybe?
Not only wheels on the back mate.. ned wheels for the road... legally the axle loads are too high.. hence the 12 row comes with a trailer..
Big old header... it is an interesting design, works with a chain pulling the stems over a stationary knife...
Great pics, thanks mark!

Well as expected I probably can't make it this year again. This would be the only weekend I have free in November.
I am away with workthe first two then back and the last weekend snowboarding.
If I can get there I wil tuck tris into a wee match box and borrow his bed.
Seriously though if I can get there it will be booked that week so I will sleep on someones floor.

nice topic rich looks like a good place to work !
ha technicians , couldn't find their @r$£ with both hands , , a technician plugs thing in to find out whats going on then fit new parts, mechanics on the other hand have a skill of knowing what the problems are & actually repairing the fault proper.
being a technician is a bit like being a jazz musician, it's just an excuse for people who cant actually use the proper tools to do a decent job of it
Each to their own opinion I guess. Not my opinion but there you go. Also love too see you say that to some of the guys I know.

fantastic picture rich!!
Howerer mate... make sure you grow into a youn TECHNICIAN, not a mechanic or fitter.... there is more to your hob that people think. The tractor technicians of today are as skilled as a car technician or lorry technician but with worse customers!!

Crossing my fingers. But I need to book a room and got a vehicle sorted.....

A high crop ford if ever there was one???

Well no but wjlhen you take into account that they would have some already it would be ok. Plus you don't need to buy UH models to play with.
What I mean is that the level of happiness these would bring would be vast. Also when you think of a hobby these are relatively cheap and better value than a Wii or a Playstation.
-
Fantastic topic Rich. I will watch with imterest to see how your job and career grows.
Don't forget some pics of out on the road if you get there.
Just remember to be positive and work hard and you will go far!

what is the restricting factor on speed Gav .. what I mean is... does something slip, block up, break etc. ... what I THINK I mean is... what's the weakest part of the lifting system
As far as my LIMITED potato knowledge goes mate i think it is the anmount of soil going up the web at the front.... if you go too fast then the soil gets carried over the top.... maybe I am wrong.... not sure.....
I think it is something like that.....
-
It's great.... but it's not "dirty" great like normal.............
Well done mate!!
By the way, have you managed that extra two arm attachment operation yet?

It is a folding corn head. I am considering ordering one even with the expensive price.
