Lovely collection you've got there 1972, makes me wish more of mine was on show. I like majors too, only have one two boxed examples though. Are your yellow majors the super and new performance? with and without rear lights? You've got the yellow trailers mixed up, going by the wheel centres!
Sorry going of topic here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes thats the ones, I have a cow feeding and the calf laying down, from 1959 approx. I'd love to get the restDo you mean the plastic cattle from the lead moulds

I have most of the animals and figures loose but this is the only boxed set of animals I have.I do have the hurdles boxed though.I would love to get some more sets of animals.
Me too, so difficult to find.
I have one early boxed Herald set, 7570 with 24 pieces. I will post some pictures when I get a digi camera!
There are two styles of gate with one or two diagonals.
Have you any of the brown cattle? rare as hens teeth.

Does anyone know the dates for the above set, containing gordon highlanders.
Purchased it a while back but can find no reference to it in books I have.
Thanks
Andy
First issued/listed in the new lines brochure for March 1957. Containing a mounted officer; 7 dismounted figures and a sentry box.

I was going to bid on this but didn't, I have all those animals loose. Nice to see it's gone to a good home. Have you got any more boxed Herald?

Just seen this. What value would one put on an orange Dump Truck as pictured in the catalogue for this release? Only ever seen one, and shops all had green version as in this posting.
assortment of washers and knockouts from metal clad switch boxes
Sorry brhofa, couldn't resist that! childish I know
Seriously though that's gotta be the proverbial hens teeth, I've never seen one excepting the catalogue picture. Is that where you saw it?

I have two other colour versions in my collection. They are for sale if someone is interested.
Land girl also available in brown dungarees

Landrover and Keeper- Why is he holding his broom like that?

As per the title. I rarely see these come up on Ebay so does anyone have an idea on value. It is the standard agricultural one with plastic yellow tipper and green cab in a nearly mint straw box.
Thanks all , Andy
Early versions have a metal yellow tipper

Yellow Deutz first issued in set no. 9881 with rear dump and man in 1984, early versions had the wheels from the volvo and DX110 decals in black, a transitional model! See 1984 trade catalogue.
Then issued as DX92 in same set with red decals and standard Britains wheels in yellow, presumably also in 1984. Also issued with liquid tanker and man in set no.9886 in1985. Both sets/autoway tractors deleted end of 1986.

Are you a local chap then Super6? I go to that Shepton show but it was too close to Crimbo for me. I bought mine from karen an Steve the day they got back from Zwolle, that keen!!!
Sunny Sussex, I get about a bit. I didn't know about them until Shepton Mallet bought a set to try and they really are the dogs. Take it you are local?

I've posted some some pics on here somewhere, Tractor Conversions thread I think.
In Custom Models-latest tractor conversions "Deer-ests 7920 tyre change". Top of page 5 today! found last night!!

Try Farmmodels for replacement tyres. I bought a set at Shepton Mallet to try on a 7820 and they look good. They are easy to put on, the hardest part being removal of the existing tyres, I put mine near a hot radiator for about half an hour then carefully prised them off. Cost is ?12 a set plus p&p. I have since bought another two sets to go on my 7920 and 7720 but not for my 7920 with the rounded front mudguards. I think the were made by someone in Belgium. Sorry no pictures, no where to plug into box brownie! Hope this helps.

HERALD SET

The Peter Cole book lists all the '59 cattle as being available in brown, doesn't mention the calf though, there is also a colour picture of the 3 cows. I've never seen the bull in brown. The '57 Herald bull is also available in brown, usually with a white patch on it.
OOOOOOPs Just worked out my lying down calf is from the '57 Herald issue, albeit with the latter Britains marking's on base, It's in a slightly lighter shade of brown . It's possible the other '57 calves are available in the same colour
