  1. Well The time has come to tell you lovely people that the real COUNTY 944 that Britains measured up all that time ago is going into the farm dispersal sale on Sat 13 Oct at 10.30.

The sale will have a plethora of classic and vintage tractors and machinary in differing condition allong with The Laverda combine,The hedge cutter and the Grain dryer that I have based my scratch builds on which have been shown in various places on the forum.

It is a painfull time for me as this will be the end of my employment on this farm, Which I have been Involved with all my life. And for the last 22 years of full time employment It has been a chalenging yet enjoyable time. But all things must come to an end.

If anyone on here is interested in any imformation about the sale you can PM me and I'll try to help.

    Regards Scott

  2. I've been pondering about an answer for this topic for a few days and come to the conclusion of how long is a piece of string. As for the life of me there is no one model that I think more of than any other. I could say that all are my favourite. On the other hand If the subject was what is your favourite farm model that would be easy Because it would be my Laverda as I made it and no one else has the same one.

  3. blimey scott, sorry to hear that mate, do you think you will stay in farming?? or try something new

I have a lead which is attatched to farming at the moment but it is in the pipeline at the moment, Only phone conversations so far.

But I don't know what is going to happen yet and in this climat it is a bit of a sphincter twicher.

  4. Well today I have been tidying up the homestead farm ready for the end of september, When I shall become redundant SMurF after 22 years in this job. It was quite a shock when I was told but not realy unexpected considering what my job has turned into over the past few years, Turning from a farm worker into a carer whilst trying my best to keep the farm going as smoothly as possible.

It is amazing how much junk can be accumulated over a 50+ year residence on a farm, And the time it takes to sort through it all.

At least I'll have a good memory of the place as It is where I based down at smurfs on. I may have worked there for 22 years full time but I am the 3'rd generation to work there spanning over 50 years and as so I have grown up on the farm since a baby.

But all things must come to an end I suppose and here's to finding a new avenue of life to follow. To which I have a few leads at the moment and we'll see what pans out.

    Regards Scott

  5. Nice to see you lot are still a bit mental :-*

I too like Jaffa cakes but I never seem to get in quick enough at the shows :-[

And as for 8 in a minute does the rules stat you have to chew them if not bring it on with my svelt build and my small appetite im sure I could give it a try >:D

Would someone send a crate of jaffa's over so i can get training

And still can't find the spell checker >:(

  6. I think the bloke needs a medal if his wife lets him keep them all over the house (exept the bedroom)

I get ear ache if i leave a new model in the living room for more than a few days.

We could dwindle the numbers down on here who are actually farm workers with a collection.

Fair play to the bloke as not so long ago I thought that i was allone in collecting so many models, That was until I found this little site on te internet with like minded people as myself and look what the forum has turned into.
