making foliage for layouts

smallclaas

Question

Just thought I post this little tip here,I wanted to find and in-expensive way of making foliage, so I tried this idea. Hope it help's all layout builders.

I first cut up a square of foam, the type of stuff you can get in any soft furnishing shop. Used for making seat cushions.

I made 1/2 inch pieces and used a kitchen blender to make fine crumbs of the foam, same way you make stuffing for the sunday roast ;)

I soaked the foam crumbs in Ronseal fence paint, and then dried the material in the oven at about 100c for 30 minutes. Here's the result  ;)
