well you could do but incase you have to shunt foward  :) and on the silage trailer we got that has a swivel it has a realy short pipe so can only move about 2-3 inches  away from the hitch  ::):D as i leant about 4 yrs ago  :D "ping"  :D

shunt forward... even I can get a trailer first go.. and you'll know if you are in line before you get out won't you ???

There are enough that don't go over to suggest to me that it is probably more to do with operator error and and poor loading technique. 

In the OP's case, stacking 6 courses in pillars and a bit of rope to hold them is always going to be unstable.  Ideally they need binding in a bit and holding down with straps.
