Pete
Why not specialise in something arable, ie have a crawler or even do it with your Quadtrac but have more machinery to use with it than maybe you would have for one estate. So that you could provide a service to other large estates? Or base it on a joint farming enterprise where you have the primary mover shared by two or more farms but each farmer has his own choice of cultivation kit? Just ideas mate. Well said tris, doing this is a good way of having a small layout/yard but still displaying a good fleet. ;) , stick to arable paul its doing you good so far and as you said there is still alot you need
Paul Palmer
it is a very good idea ,i agree, but the only downside of an arable farm is nothing much to display between the months of april to july, perhaps the sprayer and bowser and thats it,if i had a silage gang more to display through the months, however,i am going to bale some straw,so a baler is on the list now,the downside as i said would i think it would overload the layout, although jamie suggested just doing maize so would only need the forager and trailers,i really cant make my mind up,but ive given myself to this weekend to make my mind up,then it will be another spending splurge
masseyjack590
if you are going in to contracting then have a straw gang it would go with the rest of the layout better than a silage gang and just maize wouldn't be worth it because you could never justify a spfh just for maize two balers and a chaser would be a good size say two 7499 with new holland or claas balers and a chaser would be harder to find a scratch build possible also what corn trailers has venton got / getting and what combine
