jdc Posted December 16, 2009 Share Posted December 16, 2009 I know the Imber model is superb but the front wheels niggled a wee bit so had a play with the 5640 and removed part of the hub, they still turn but will not have the bearing life of the original. How are the wheels fixed onto the axles Not too difficult, the wheel is held on by a steel knurled pin which grips a hole in the stub axle - tight, but pulls off. The blue 'hubcap covers the pin's head. Well, that's your warranty now void! is there any wobble/slack now having reduced the support? In appearance it is an improvement of course I guess Imber won't take them back now. By carefully pushing the pin back in, the wobble can be lost without stopping the wheel from turning.
