The Valley Axeman's Major Marshall Mission
BC replied to Valley Axe Man's topic in FTF Member Machinery
Always something needs done on these old machines Paul but that's just part and parcel of the joys of ownership. Nice to see you have been able to get out and about for a run on it. -

Farm Toy and Model LIVE ONLINE Auction - Saturday 26th September 2015
BC replied to Andy's topic in Events and Shows
Yes Tim that was the case for me....but I'm now in disposal mode in terms of my Britain's collection. I have another 70 models in for auction (including some non Britain's) at the next auction to be held by Pentland Livestock Limited at Coupar Angus on Saturday 31st October. The plan is then for the balance of my Britain's collection to be sold over two separate sale days in 2016. -

I'm sure you will have as much fun with the real deal as well as you have with your 1/16 and 1/32 models Paul. -
Farm Toy and Model LIVE ONLINE Auction - Saturday 26th September 2015

I must admit I do like auctions....to me they are always full of surprises....some things can go for silly money but usually there are always bargains to be had. -
Did you have to convert inside cab from LHD to RHD Mark, and if so how easy a job is it to get into the cab and do that?

Border Fine Arts - Tractors, Horses and Lorries

Well you could be right Tim but I'm glad I decided not to buy it. Not only did it not appeal to me I like to display my Border Fine Arts and not have then sitting up in the loft in boxes. -

Yes SPN some one else told me the exhaust was incorrect for the age of the tractor. I'm afraid I never took any photos of the other side since the figurine just did not appeal to me with that more modern cab fitted to it. I take your point on the retrofitted cab but personally I prefer my real tractors and tractor models to be as original as possible. -

After viewing the figurine I decided not to buy the 25th annual tractor due to looking a bit odd having a more modern cab on pre force Ford tractor. In addition I have run out of cabinet space for displaying the larger models, however I did not come away empty handed...still have space for the smaller Studios one in approximately 1/32 scale. -

Border Fine Arts - Tractors, Horses and Lorries

Yes I suppose they were a cheap form of trailer for farmers after the railway were finished with them Tim and would have been a test of a farmers reversing skills;D;D I personally don't recall many of the four wheeled ones being used in my area but I remember a lot of farmers used old railway trailers as bale carts which would have been the single axle ones pulled by the 3 wheeled Scammell Scarab. -

Border Fine Arts - Tractors, Horses and Lorries
BC replied to BC's topic in Border Fine Art Sculptures
Yes its a nice piece but very long for displaying. I have kind of made a half hearted resolution that this will be my last Border Fine Arts purchase since I simply don't have any more display space and I like to display them opposed to just keeping them in boxes...however I can see this being broken depending on the 2015 annual tractor ;D Thanks for the information Kenny. I have just checked the DVLA and GRM 503D was registered on 23/2/1966 and is still road legal. Its on general sale David and limited to 250 in total. Sinclairs of Inverurie have two the one I returned with the warped base (no 59 of 250) and another one (no 75 of 250). Due to being one of the lowest number issued in the tractor range they don't come cheap but I get a 15% discount off the RRP from Sinclairs who I have dealt with for more years than I care to remember. -
