BC
James I think this show is probably in it's 7th year since it started. I have been to the last 6 shows and enjoyed them immensely apart from the layout of the tractors inside. The ones in the "herring bone" position are fine but the ones "nose cone to draw bar hitch" remind me of a cross channel ferry queue > Having said that it is held at a mart and apparently Monday is the big sale day at Lanark. If more pens were removed then they would all have to be replaced after the show ended after the tractors were away say at 5pm Sunday. It would be up to the event organisers to do this or perhaps employ mart employees at maybe double time on a Sunday ??? .. a shame really but all down to the viability of running such events I suppose. Having said that I do hope the new event organiser Rab Beaton continues to run such a show since we have a chance to get G&M Farm Models ( Graham & Michelle), The Old 20 Parts Co ( Nick and Phil) and Stephen Moat to come up to Scotland for a second time in the year after their annual trip to the Isle of Skye Hotel In Perth every March after the snow has gone ;)

BC
Sunday 1pm was the prize giving and was hosted by Peter Love the ex Tractor and Machinery editor. The tractor judging was done by Ross Yeaman from Cupar Angus but Peter had him coming from Carlisle :of I would say Ross did a very good job of the judging but whoever Peter now works for seems to have let the show down. There were no rosettes (only a yellow stick on label saying that you were a winner) and no trophy's since they had not been arranged in time. The winners did get a certificate and this was presented by Nick Battel from the Old 20 Parts Company. All in all the presentation with no rosettes and no trophy's was a bit of a shambles and long winded since well I think Peter Love was vaccinated at birth with a gramophone needle...he just goes on and on and doesn't know when to stop talking. Peter is very knowledgeable on tractors the problem is he does not know when to sit down and shut up ;) Anyway I caught most of the prize giving with the exception of a few Best Junior display Alfie Thompson aged 7 from Kendal with his Farm and John Deere display. His dad was there with his quarrying display too.

BC
Yes the Ayrshire Club did a great job in putting that scene together. I was talking to one of the committe members and he said it was so tight they had to move the trailer into its final poisition with the aid of trolley jacks.. ;) I have more photos from the show covering some of the tractors Brian aka me softie but also tractors from the sale and prices realised and of course 40 odd lorries. I'll try and get these posted up later on this week.
