FRASERBURGH VINTAGE RALLY - SUNDAY 6th JUNE 2010

BC

Recommended Posts

The first Sunday in June is the date for the annual Fraserburgh Vintage Vehicle Rally held at the Leisure Centre at the "broch" . It is organised by James Gray of Gray and Adams the fridge van manufacturers.

There is always a large turnout of tractors, engines. commercials, cars and bikes. In the large exhibition hall there are craft fair stalls, various stalls selling models and also displays of models including lorries and cranes etc.

I will take some of Model Farmer issues 14 and 15 and see if I can persuade some of the sellers or displayers to try selling some. Even if they don't sell it will still get the magazine advertised.

I will only be taking the one tractor up this year my 1951 Cub since I haven't got round to fixing the cooling fan on my MG2.

I got back from the 19th Fraserburgh Vintage Rally today just after 7pm. I did not bother unloading the tractor since taking a Monday holiday tomorrow. Weather was overcast but on the whole dry. Was a good day out and I won the Stanley Partridge Trophy in the tractor class to 195 out of 35 in the class. There are 4 tractor classes by year up to 1980 plus a Best Restored Tractor Cup.

In addition did my bit for Magazine and left 24 copies of issue 14 and 15 on Stewart Duncans model stall and he shifted 11 for the day, He was impressed with the quality and has taken the rest since he said he will sell some to customers. He is a travelling salesman with Dingbro Ltd Aberdeen;s largest motor factors. I see him again at his model stall at Castle Fraser near Kemnay for the Bonaccord Steam and Vintage Rally in two weeks time. I was speaking to his wife and she was saying there were a lot of people looking and showing interst in the magazine. Unfortunately I did not have flyer's but I have one chaps phone number and I will give him a bell.

Currently 90 odd photos being uploaded to photo bucket but it will be tomorrow now before these get uploaded.
