BC
Yesterday I decided to drive my 1957 Nuffield Universal DM4 to the Deeside rally which is held and the Milton of Crathes and is only 4 miles away from where I stay. It was a fine morning an the tractor was running well until about 2- 1/2 miles up the road the tone of the engine changed and there was a "skirl" from the cooling fan then steam and water pouring out...the water pump had seized up.I was lucky as I was just at the wide opening to the Joss sand quarry and was able to pull off the road and stop the tractor. As luck would have it another tractor collector was passing and pulled in and said he would take me to the show field and then get one of his grandson's to pull me home with his 1958 Fordson Power major. This is the first time in my 35 years of ownership Nuffy has broken down with me but hey ho these things happen and on a positive note it has been restored for over 32 years and the only expenditure I have made on her since restoration is two sets of batteries. Anyway once safely home and garaged up I decided not to bother taking my 1951 Farmall Cub and just went back up to the show as a spectator. The Scottish County Club were in there usual corner spot. BC
Sunday was a dry day until around 2pm when the rain came on and it got heavier as the afternoon progressed. An expensive kind of conversion for a motor home and includes a modified mini car sitting cross aways at the rear.
