I’m pretty sure 1, 2, 6, 9, 10 and 12 are Britains but the others could be John hill co. Or FG Taylor & sons . I recon 3 and 7 could be Timpo ones . The Britains ones are often a lot less crude and have thinner legs:)

Thanks Ferret, I was being lazy and putting off researching the pictures using Norman Joplin’s book as reference.  Re looking at them again my best guess is as follows:

1 Britains 573 Bull

2

3 Timpo Cow lowing with bell

4 Cherilea Jersey Cow with bell (missing)

5 Crecent long-horned cow

6 Britains 508 Cow

7 Timpo Cow with bell feeding

8

9 Taylor & Barret cow lying down

10

11 Crecent long-horned cow feeding

12 John Hill & Co. Shaggy calf

but am open to correction please.

#2, which should have been two separate pictures, the front cow looks like a Britains 509 but the paint pattern seems different.  Did each manufacture stick to the same paint pattern or were there variations?

The Great Book Of Hollowcast Figures by Norman Joplin is a very good reference book for identification, a bit expensive but worth the investment. I have been able to identify many unknown to me items that I have acquired over time by having this book.
