Ertl John Deere 8RX 410 Row Crop

Recommended Posts

This is by far the most detailed new Ertl/Britains Tractor I have bought since the John Deere 8530 Precision Classic was released.

The model is very heavy in comparison to most recent Ertl/Britains models.  Also the attention to detail is far higher.

Positives:

- Fully working tracks with running drive and idler wheels.

- majority of parts made from metal including bonnet and Cab roof.

- Working rear 3 point linkage

- folding wing mirrors

Negatives:

- turning circle of wheels is nearly non-existent

- would have been nice for rear linkage to have been painted to cover up the plastic.

- windscreen wipers are cast as part of the glass rather than individually mounted.

Conclusion

In general a great model, while this might not be a Marge, it isnt that far off.

Here are some comparisons to other similar size models.

I would say the quality is very similar to wiking, would said it was higher if they had painted the rear linkage.

It isnt quite as good as Marge, but relativity close. Tracks are actually better than the Marge ones.

Still not a patch on the precision classics.

So I think they are fairly priced for the quality.
