Hi Grassman675 and welcome to the forum. If you scroll a bit further down the page you will see a section for Hints and Tips

http://www.farmtoysforum.com/forum/forum/88-custom-model-methodstipshelp/

This has all sorts of useful advice about the types of paint and glue that others have tried and would recommend

Hi,

Just run into this question: i'm using paints from Zero-Paints, UK-based manufacturer. Have very good experiences with their products, although they mainly produce for car- and racing-industry. The range of paint-products regarding agricultural and earth-moving equipment are increasing over the last years, making me a happy customer!

Best regards,

Jan

I've used the Zero Paints as they were just 2 miles from where i worked............found the paint very thick so I need to get some of their thinners (tried Tamiya thinners, didn't work, lesson learnt)

Luckily, I was using the Zero paints on  a test piece, so no harm done.

I'm currently using Vallejo acrylic with a thinner that flows really well.

Best advise, buy some stuff and try it out.
