The following warning has been published by Kelsey who have a number of tractor related titles in their portfolios 

 

READERS BEWARE! It’s come to our attention that a fraudster has been posing as a Kelsey Publishing employee, and ‘selling’ bogus advertising space in Tractor & Machinery, and possibly other titles, too. A Ford & Fordson Tractors magazine reader, who had been selling a tractor in the free classified section, was called and offered a deal for £6.50, that would see his tractor re-advertised in T&M, for greater exposure. The caller seemed knowledgeable and credible. He convinced the reader to reveal the bank details he needed to access their account. The following morning the reader discovered that a significant sum of money had been taken from the account. Kelsey Publishing takes this sort of fraud extremely seriously. The police have been informed and investigations are ongoing. In the meantime, we would like to reassure readers that Kelsey Publishing will never contact customers regarding an upgrade to a free, classified advert. Readers should be on their guard for new cases of this sort, and must never reveal any bank details to strangers on the telephone.
