ctsboy
A couple of random pics here from work, 1st is a Jcb fasttrac 8230 and 7 furrow plough , this tractor was on demo with us for a few days. And a McCormick Mtx135 and KRM Bredal fert spreader i was using to perk up a bit of slow rape.
P.Morrison
What you think of the McCormick, mate of mine has a Mc115, i think the power shift is while bouncy, and while clunky
JC
How did the JCB fair with the ploughing, I've heard they are very poor in the field...... \
ctsboy
Personnally i don't like them they have a clunk click gearbox that makes a hell of a noise that you think the gearbox is about to drop out when you change gear!
ctsboy
Hi F-P The lad who was driving the JCB said she pulled well but was very noisey there was a constant drone from the exhaust, and it was not the most manoverable tractor. nashmach
Never yet heard of a MAxxum or MTX that didn't have the clunky gearbox
james f
Clunky is not always bad you know. I'd prefer a reassuring mechanical feel to something that was slow and/or vague.

I'd prefer a reassuring mechanical feel to something that was slow and/or vague. thought we were talking about marky for a minute there :D doesn't look like the soil would create too much problems for the jcb though looks easy enough to work
ctsboy
Alrite mjb1 Your rite about the soil where the fastrac was working it is really lite and easy working! we only ploughed it due to it having a load of pig muck spreading on it first. Some of that block of ground is let out to a local parsnip grower, cause they can get a block in early in fact they have got a chunck destoned already, they will then bed till it up before drilling it around december.
