  5. i think i also said if the model did indeed have steering & a decent hitch i'd take it all back & in recent eveidence i do, but still think there's no excuse for the cab gap nowadays . talking to a few farmer/contractors i deliver to the 1;1 scale NH range isn't that hot either :laugh:

  7. just read your post above justin & negative or not this is a forum for toys & models & personal opinions . i think my biggest gripe is how well britains have done with recent models & to have this 'gap' is a great shame , i think i'm also a bit narked that this tractor should have been part of the britains line up when us older collectors wanted them most, ie; when they were part of the mainstream farm lineup in the real world
  8. thank you paul can some one show a pic of the steering arangement & the hydraulics on this new 6600 please , as as far as i'm aware a few years ago the leaps & bounds from the last 30 years left the 'new' 5000 & it's ilk with no steering & a hydraulic lift that wouldn't lift let alone keep it in the air for any length of time eg: the britains JD tracked 84** couldn't even lift the 3furrow reversable plough that my old 6600 could handle easily ,even the original 6600 had steering & that was legacy from it's days as a super major way back from days of yore it also had a lift system that kept implements aloft for as long as you wanted them. if the new 66 has steering & a decent lift arangement i'll take it all back , but the cab gap is an unbeleiveable faux pas in this day & age
  9. in an ideal world ? excuse me, but even back when the original TW20 was released, the later 77 & 56 & the TW35 etc had a single cast cab
  10. really ? i assume the new 66 has no working steering & crappy hydraulic arms ? if so then britains will continue on it's journey .......backwards . real shame britains didn't go to siku as the bottom line is ERTL ruined the britains brand, britains should have been left to go under & to be remembered for the quality brand it once was , britains should have been ERTL's premier flagship brand instead of an unhappy sideshow
  11. the new ford looks to be a great addition to the line up , shame about the join in the cab frame ,it needn't be there at all with modern castings it wasn't there on the old ones so no excuse to be there on a new release . in short, another good model by britains but again let down by an outstanding error with a cab casting. shame really ,what with the last few tractors bought out with the 74?? MF, the C-IH & IH models , the consistancy has gone right out the window with this new bubble cab & that cab has ruined the whole look of the tractor , sorry britains ,what should have been a massive hit has turned out to be an epic fail
  12. very rarely go there graham, they're part of a buying group, so will go to whoever gives them the best deal at any given time , if we do get them , it's usually milled at dorchester
  13. still is mate , with kent, sussex, oxford,henly on thames , high wickam,, hereford & worcester all thrown in for good measure !
  14. robbo re; the same tarus been on the same farm since new , was once the main tractor when it was a dairy farm but now the farm is a small beef unit , so it's duties nowadays are bit of topping,mowing, turning & small bale hay, they have a ford 7840 for the big feeder & round baler & an old david brown & 3cx for the loading mark , yup spoil you rotten ! ah i been here roundabouts keeping an eye on bit's & bobs ! sean , get down there about once a month mate , unless a lifton lorry is headed back down that way

  16. even managed to find one for robbo one for the die hard ford fans a rather battle weary 8100 i usually send tris picture messages of these tractors , as i do find one or two stunners like the 76 & 78's above , so this was a great find , a 6410 2wd, in original condition on the same farm since new i also send him a few oddities l like the TW15 SQ cabbed Muir Hill 121 down at Holbeton , quite near our very own Mr Pullen
  17. ah here you go tim , the same JCB a few months back, got 2 of these along with another he's got as with the tidy 78 on big boots , he's also added another classic , a 7610 gen 3
  18. nothing wrong with the jcb tim , the farmer buy's them good second hand , gives them a good going over them uses them for his farm & a bit of contracting , i did text tris the details asi've forgotten now
  19. agree about the beacons chum, unles it's a council hedgetrimmer or contractors machine usually driven flatout by 12 year olds i very rarely see tractors with twin beacons ! nice conversion , looks a treat
  20. nice take on the CASE IH theme convo, the colours really suit it & so glad you havent tried putting pictures of tractors all over the cab , i'm afraid they usually end up looking a bit naff & also good to see a bit of colour on the grill other than completely black

  22. if that's a britains model they'll be bankrupt in a week , thats got glue marks & smudges everywhere , not bad for a self build , but a production run by a big company it'd be their down fall
  23. dont hold your breath , when the more detailed landy's were released they took the working suspension away , bit like taking the drivers out of the cabs
  24. ah last time i was there the county was on the feeder , the 590 was on loader duties & that 595 & at the time he had a a ford AP cabbed 6610? doing all the groundwork all good stuff. bigwoods sold a lot of Deutz in the area & surprising how many still have DX's working, but the issue with deutz was all down to watvere not wanting to share a dealership , as bigwoods were also starting to sell zetor. be interesting to see how deutz fare with bigwoods as although there are a few about now because of southern tractors , it was the poor sales that sent southern tractors back into oblivion , think bigwoods will miss the massey sales . Tim are bigwoods giving up the dealership or has a shakeup meant their franchise isn't being renewed ?
