NewHolland2
Nice pics there Fendt Power. What are their outputs like compared to the large irrigator pics you have posted before? :)
Guest Fendt pwr
These big guns will put on a bit more water, but take a fair bit more pump power to drive them.
NewHolland2
Thanks Fendt Power. Do you use old combine engines or similar for motors?
Guest Fendt pwr
Nar 80% of farmers use electricity now, because it's more reliable and faster.
NewHolland2
I see. Most farmers around here still use old engines. Just attach then to an old bashed up trailer and away you go...... ;)
Guest Fendt pwr
We've refined the nack of irrigation here pretty well, because we do it for so long every year. Not to many on the forum have any thing to do with irrigation do they? or they are not keen on it that much.
Pingu
I think the main reason for that is we dont really use them we have enough rain most of the time and down in the south were i am its rare to see an irragation drum well any root crops either :D I'm not to fond of them i'm normal the bloke that comes into the field to cultivate it thats about it :D
MJB1
used to irigate spuds on a farm i worked on ,powered by a donkey unit with a scrapped scania 250hp engine. used a DB 950 to run the hose out . untill he used the 8210 SQ & left the windows & roof hatch open ,thus it got filled up with water \
Guest Fendt pwr
Nice one! Once I layed out 500mtrs of pipe only to find that I'd layed them out the wrong way around,so the pipes would not hook up to the pump. That was a sod of a job turning every one of them around with the boss watching from over the fence.
