As many of you will know it is the time of year that the lamb sales start the north of scotland sales started this week in caithness with several thousand being sold, Tuesday was Dingwall with about 8,000 wedders and ewe lambs and yesterday was the 1st of the Lairg sales with 23,000 lambs sold yesterday. All these lambs will go to farmers in the lowlands for either breeding or finishing as store lambs over the winter. Did any of the member on here sell lambs at the sales or buy? If so were you happy with the prices you got? There is a bit in the Press and Journal today about many crofters looking at getting out of sheep is this the case near you?
