  1. Pot holes.

My wife hit one on friday night couldnt see it but when she got home tyre was flat. Couldnt see a hole so hoped it had just broke seal but no such luck hole in the wall of the tyre less than 4,000 on the tyre gutted and at over 200 a pop not a happy chap. Have photographed pothole and have got claim forms from council so heres hoping. Another expensive year for me compounded by the council fools. >:( >:(

Also legal aid forms they are that bad have decided to fund the case ourselves rather than attempt to fill in the novel

  2. We have had high winds and 6 metre seas here today coupled with horizontal snow ... Freeeeeeeeezing outside today has resulted in wearing a jacket and balacalava as well as my normal overalls and clothes. It has now stopped snowing but it was that cold it had frozen and is now falling off the overhanging edges making it decidedly dangerous outside.

  3. The chap in the shop said it hadn't been as popular as the HTC or the iPhone. . .

As it happens I'm kind of scuppered now anyway as if I want to pay my way out of my contract it will cost me £337 before I even sign up for the iPhone tarrif. ...  [img alt=:-[]http://www.farmtoysforum.com/forum/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif [img alt=:(]http://www.farmtoysforum.com/forum/Smileys/default/sad.gif

May have to run with my old N95 for a few months now on a lower tarrif and then pay may way out later in the year or just wait until November

Always worth waiting till the end of your contract Mine is due for renewal soon often can get the phone at a lower cost last time I renewed got the HTC desire for my wife on an 18 month contract for free when it should have been £100. Companies are desparate to keep customers so can do good deals to keep you. Guy who works with me managed to get a 4g 32GB iphone for free from O2 on a 18 month contract @£25 a month just by threatening to leave. ;)

  4. Well North sea oil platforms never stop so still at work. Minimum work today just a couple of walks outside to check every thing is ok. Apart from that lunch in an hours time and watch football all afternoon, staying up till midnight tonight to cover so the nightshift can all go for their special meal together, works in my favor as it means I get a lie in tomorrow morning. ;D ;D

  5. Tris I work with several very big Geeks, one of the is at uni doing ethical Hacking so knows a thing or 2 about computers and phone technology.

He has just got the iphone 4 and was won over by it straight away. The camera web usage but mostly the apps. My sisters boyfriend has one and even my 7 and 4 year old can use it so not exactly a hard phone to get used too. I am due an upgrade next year and it is currently looking like an i Phone 4 or HTC desire HD

My wife has the HTC desire and again is a great phone very high quality screen and camera the new model has 720 p HD video playback. Blackberry again good phones again horses for courses worth going in the shop and seeing what you like and what feels right. don't know anyone with the new Nokia so can't comment. Hope that helps.

Happy new year Robert and stay safe mate

We only have the baby ones here as only a 14" pipeline to the other platform but main line to sullom voe is 36"

about 26 bar pressure to push it down line with about 15,000 barrels of oil a day behind it. Usually takes about 2 days to travel 7 miles.

  8. that's gutting news Robert.... but I guess if you look on the bright side mate, at least you are home for Christmas hey  :-\

Can't be a very nice place out there in the North Sea at this time of year either - best of luck mate, happy christmas and stay safe

Yeah knew it was coming but you really don't prepare yourself for it. Yeah glad to be home for christmas I have not been home for the past 2 so this will be a good one also not had a christmas with my youngest who is 2 as have work the past 2. No not a nice place but you make the best of it. Below is a copy of the christmas and boxing day menus. We also will have the same sort of spread at new year, there is also games played like pool and snooker, darts, domino's and crib and table tennis so a good day for everyone else apart from us because we will have work outside to do but may get to see a film. Also a raffle to look forward to.
