  1. We must be closing in on the first pictures of Wikings next JOHN DEERE adventure ::)  Did I hear somebody say  6210R ?

I hope they do Fendt's 724 enough JD rubbish out there already :P:laugh:

  2. Were looking at Monday the 11th of june or so gradually getting everything ready in the next week so as much sleep as possible before Challenger or T7.270 become my second home chasing combines with cultivation's

  3. Topping feild margins with a 22hp Kioti compact tractor, too warm, too many bugs and a seat that didnt quite fit properly  :-\  Ive already had "you young ones dont know your born" from my stepdad, but I like my air con and 160 hp tractors  :P

Been doing same with a small JD last 2 days (only another 2800 acres to go round :'( ) and only thing keeping me going is knowing 3 more weeks and be in harvest and doing what I want to be

  4. Interesting some are saying there yields are gonna be normal, we've got land from south Essex to Suffolk and all of our wheat will be down by quite some way, our ear count is around 350 with 500+ needed for best yields with us very rarely doing below 4.2t, but its gonna be below that all cause we had 12 mm rain from February to end of may so no fertiliser uptake :'(  this year has been horrendous our light land is long since dead no matter the crop

  5. 3 weeks for barley here or sooner. Hopefully looking at the crop we will be getting 5ton an acre this year. Combine coming out the shed  tomorrow as newholland dealer is giving her a check over.

I'll believe that when I see it over a weighbridge    Especially with year we've had no-one will get there best yields

  6. The cooling system isn't, the back end isn't and the axles aren't.  And there is design differences in components between a 69 and 79 in the engine they havn't just plonked one engine into the next and remapped it ;) .  Not got anything against chipping got an ares 697 and Cat MT 865 chipped but 225 on a 69 is asking a lot if want it for more then 5000hrs from it

  7. Isnt that just asking for problems mapping it too 225hp a tractor designed for tops 160hp at the shaft when a 7530 cant handle its standard power let alone a 69 pushing out more then one ??? ???

  8. Well at the moment were looking at if lucky an average of 3ton to acre whereas last 5 year average across our ground is 4.2ton an acre so were most certainly way down this year  :'(

Had a look at crops last few days and last week 10 days of wet weather has helped in that were looking at 10th of july realistic start so not to early but that can quickly change as we all know this year

  9. Well we were looking at end of June first week July start but the last week of dull weather and showers has slowed things up a little.  But still gonna be early, high chance I wont spray a large portion of the OSR off as otherwise be stupid early might as well save the money and wait a little longer  :)

  10. lights are never as good as daylight hey. :)

Very true Ol but nothing quite like on your own in middle of nowhere with the lights on plodding along in the early hours. I enjoy it do enough of it all year

I feel same though when comes to Claas not enough credit is given to them, I got friends that say its because there just trouble etc, yet everyone I know locally is excellent even a 7000hr axion 820.  I think its because there still small in tractor stakes that there's so many slagging them off not enough out there yet to prove otherwise! So even when dealer vans there for a small niggle there terrible.  Yet with our JD seen JD van too many times yet thats just normal teething problems! (not slagging deere off just example)  :-\ :-\

  11. Its all i've mainly driven for last 4+ years first had Fendt 818 (with days on 926 and 930) for 18months plus and 2500+ hrs (had 3000 on when I got on it) if not more and never went wrong best tractor I've had pleasure of driving.  Here have a JD 7530 ap the ideas there with the gearbox but I wont say anything else! Driven range other varios from Case NH Claas etc and like them all.  Dont get me wrong like powershifts but your never in the right gear to get best from the tractor or machine behind

  12. yeah, also having driven john deere autopowr i didn't touch the clutch all day as you can just use the brakes, i find that a good feature

Just dont use autopower for engine braking.  Not gonna start colour war or slagging match.  Theres no real comparision between manual and CVT.  A good CVT is as efficient as a powershift gearbox with a lot more things possible.  Everything a manual can do a vario can do and better.  Comes down to what operator prefers

  13. yeah i've heard that about baling tractors, i also find CVT is good for acceleration, i'm in the fen so i wouldn't know but i've heard they're not very good on hills as you have no gears to drop down and keep your revs maintained

Most of decent varios are fitted with exhaust brakes which can use and I've normaly found very rarely need to touch the brakes if sensible drive.  There no different for engine braking then a manual box.  And when going up hill they drop back just like a manual depends on your settings as to how much the computer lets revs fall back before lowering gear ratio

  14. You say we dont need suspension on modern tractors that were spoilt but think how much more faster operations are being done these days were fert spreading and spraying at up to 18k, we have to run with min till cultivators at 12-14k to get the boil so to speak and add in 14-16hrs a day for months on end and a lot of modern tractors doing 2000+hrs a year and in my eyes suspension is vital if you want happy workers that dont start having bad backs etc

  15. i have to admit fendt are brilliant tractors, but i would say second to fendts vario gearbox would be New Holland Auto Command, i'm not a fan of John Deere autopowr i much prefer their powerquad gearbox.

It is good but few features I personally don't like and not proven like vario yet know of fair few that are troublesome!  Dont get me started on JD autopower had many run in's with green blooded people that cant see beyond there nose how rubbish it is for a gearbox! I prefer there autoquad as wel
