  1. thats a lot of faults, where i work part time they run 4 fendts 1 massey and 1 jd 6830 premium, only faults ive heard on the jd are, head gasket gone, and brakes not lasting, but they have a lot of youngsters who, bosses words, not mine are to hard with the brake pedals, dont use the gearbox enough to slow down

My biggest hate with JD autopower the fact cant use it as a brake or risk a large bill for repairs whats point in designing a gearbox that cant use engine braking but best not start a colour war    I do like the larger Deere's 7930 etc absolutely lovely to drive for cultivations etc

  2. Erm a lot of oil leaks from range places on the back end, gearbox is terrible takes forever to set off sometimes will loose drive (been back to dealer twice for this no faults found ::) ) saps power a lot at times none the spools are original think on number 12 and its only fitted with 3 d/a. Had quite few sensors bugger up stopping it dead!  Ok most faults havn't stopped it working but for a tractor with 2500hrs its too many and it is NOT a premium product by any means in my eyes (personnel opinion before i get a load of abuse)

  3. thanks phil

No trouble mate, I only know cause our 7530 isn't what were promised far from it, so there trying to keep us but price we've been quoted aren't far off Fendt at the moment and I know what everyone bar JD nuts will buy

  4. some new release by john deere on june 22nd,ive posted in tractors ,but not sure if it is a tractor,it says get in the fast lane, more info on 22nd june, anybody know anything?

It will be official launch of 7r series tractors as jd dealers already have prices

  5. We run a Vaderstad rapid 8m and used to run it on MT865 challenger but now been moved onto with Case STX 430 and wouldnt want any less on it! We aim for in field speed of 20k so it takes some grunt to manage it

  6. Our JD dealer ends up moving them onto the mudguard on the PDI otherwise they just get complaints about it, just cant see jd uk logic they know these big tractors are gonna be ploughing and what do you norm use to make sure plough is pulling straight the top-link think some heads need banging

  7. Bring her along Phil and give her a tenner to go and spoil herself in the shopping centre next door!

What about Simba trip Monday morning afterwards?  ;)

As much is tempting Tris I owe her big time for all help she gave me after break-up from partner over xmas period and new year.

But Simba trip is extremely tempting tris will ask boss tomo and check I'm not due to be spraying :)

  10. 6 easily they are geared slower than 4m so they take less pulling well on kuhns anyway

Depends on what gears it's set on as with all power harrows can alter it, we do with our 6m and can make anything from 220-350hp grunt

  11. Fendt 820 - 205hp

    Kuhn vari-master 112 T 6 furrow - maximum power 172hp

    Kuhn multi master 182 T 6 furrow - maximum power 261hp

From Fendt and Kuhn website...... i don't understand why they put "maximum" power, surley it should be "minimum" ???

Its normally based around what the headstock can cope with well is with KV.  Easier that way as all different soils require different hp to pull so they just say what maximum power should ideally be used with them

  12. 4th week in august for Rape is ideal we drilled some in first 8 days of September this year and its the worst on the farm :'(  Wheat depends on the land middle september for first wheats then up to 10th October (ideal) for second wheats.  Winter barley not sure as never grown it

  13. I always had you down as ploughing man Phill. :)

Mine would be a Bedformer, pulling up lovely deep beds of silty loam and seeing the gulls swooping down for a feed.

I do enjoy a good bit of ploughing Ol and getting a nice lovely stale seedbed but always been big min-till person as we get better yields from it then do the plough :)
