Using Excel (or word if you prefer) you can fill rthe background with black and have the font colour as white or silver then print on white paper.
You get a better effect than printing on black paper because there are no printers with white ink and grey is really a combination of "nothing" and black ink.
or use the text option in paint, when done click image and then invert colours and voilÃ

Has he got different coloured overalls now?
No I left them blue, I tried to stay as true to the original as I could.
-
I have the lying down mechanic, no torch though. He was minus all of his paint when I got him so I gave him a makeover:)

is it not to do with licencing issues..... if they do the models in a different scale i.e 1:43 are they not then allowed to do them in 1:32??? this got round the issue of ertl having all the licences for models etc did it not?
I doubt it, UH make a Fordson Major and an MF35X in 1:43, 1:32 & 1:16.
-
I guess that the people buying the smaller scales are essentially 'toy car collectors'.
1/34 scale is near enough to 1/32 for all but the most OCD afflicted collectors.
and also a lot of military modelling is done in 1:35 scale as well.
-
Location also plays a factor with 1/64 being the favourite in North America followed by 1/16. 1/32 is not as easy to find over here but it is becoming a bit more popular. Funny though that for toy soldiers 1/32 is the norm.

Cheers Sean, I remember seeing it now! Memory must be slipping :'( ;D

Sean what is the unpainted building with the double doors in the first pic? Is it new, don't remember seeing it before.
-
The arks look great Sean, infact the whole layout does. You have come a long way since you first started Ashtree !!

I googled English farmhouse and seems a lot of them tend to be pretty plain in design with 3 windows across the second floor and then on the ground floor window door window.
Some have a side extension and some have one on the back.

He is a mod on the forum tractorman810. I am sure he will respond.

So Scot, that means to say, or at least your picture shows me, that there is not so much missing as I thought! All I have to look for is the ladder, the upright support and the support base block. No wonder I could not fathom out how the 'back' fitted, because it's actually the loft floor.
You got it Tim and I am sure at some point these bits will turn up at a show or on eBay.
-
Nice pickup and in the second picture the piece you are using is actually the hayloft floor section. This building never had a back, so all you need now is the support and the ladder
Happy Hunting and regards the building for a tenner, Yeah you should of picked it up :'(
Here is the set in question

FANTASTIC Sean !!!!!!!
Those matts are great and certainly do the job. I have one that I use for my Zulu layout.

I don't see any type of saw. Perhaps they are manly men and use their bare hands to snap the trunks off at the base.
-
Very nice Bill, looks a fair size too.

My Britains milk tanker is the same but the cab (metal) is white and the tank (plastic) is yellow.

That's really sad Mike... on a similar note... my dog (Alfrid the boxer) has been recently diagnosed with Lukemia and it's not looking good for him... they say he's got about 6 months.. but he's loosing weight like nothing on earth :'(
He's 11... (was his birthday yesterday actually)... which is a fair old innings for a Boxer dog :'( .. Mrs F is now spoiling him rotten though.. he's getting far more 'treats' than I get :'( :D
Sorry to hear that Marky, Mum & Dad just lost their Standard Poodle on Sunday morning. He wandered all the way down into the basement to die. Dad followed him down at 2am and was with him. He was 9 which I guess isn't bad for a dog his size. His mum had to be put down last week (my Aunt owned her) she was 13. It's been a bugger of a week animal wise
They still live on in spirit though as I have his son/her grandson.

Yes has to have a box for two reasons
1: My only rare model a Yellow 1884, had to have a box so it was like re-opening the first one i got 22 years ago
2: If they dont come in a box, they come broken
Therefore i always buy with box even if i throw the box out the minute it arrives, i doubt i'll ever sell any of my models, bar the odd conversion i do
There have been brand new models boxed that have arrived broken. So I don't fully buy that theory.
For me if it has a box fine but no biggie if it doesn't. The boxes just get stored anyway and I buy my collection for me, not for resale or as an investment.

They were given names
Scottish Blackface, Welsh Mountain, Suffolk and Charolais.
-
These also made a white faced version of this sheep.
I guess for us younger collectors this series was the "Herald" of our times. The animals really were nicely done.
The only exsisting animals from that range are the Thouroughbred horses, foals, lambs, calves and the 2 horses in the heavy horse pack. Shame really
-
You won't find them for sale retail as Britians cancelled them years ago. I think they came out in 92/93 not sure when they were pulled. The lambs are still available however.
They went back to these

ALl came together nicely Mark. Those willow trees look pretty darn good too !!

I'll have a look at that Scott - might be worth importing it \
Surely there has to be a product in the UK, just need to find out what you guys call it over there.

I am not sure that it is, I think it was just a tire he was holding.
