Cut it today. 18-19% moisture.
Yield averaged from poor to very poor - about 1t/acre.
Cutting very high as no use for the straw so seems stupid to push it all through the drum for no reason. In places where there was a bit of rubbish I just took the ears off and a tiny bit of straw to help it feed. Afterall, that's the bit I'm interested in.
250 and trailer
note the bindweed

Almost fit:

You must be local then? Apologies if I already know you

thats not a 'normal' belarus according to chris lockwood
speaking of him, where is he!
thats made in a different factory, it has a large steering linkage rod up the right side of the engine for steering
and the cab seems to be more cluttered with buttons and nobs too.......infact it looks a mess
i should get my ole man to take a photo of our neighbours fleet..........especially his 611 2wd, rops with forklift
He is here, only 3 months late
That is indeed different to your average Minsk built 'Belarus'.
It is a JuMZ-6AL or -6AM built in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine .

An update from Saturday; now fully on ear and flowering. Nice and clean, both disease and weed wise. And remembering no ferts, I'm pretty impressed, especially with the ears which are mostly a decent length. Just want them to fill out now.
-
That's looking a bit good
-
Looks well, especially with no 'N'. You'll be surprised how much it will grow after the ear emerges if the weather is 'growy'
That's what I'm worried about, would prefer it to stay the current height!

Superb, simply superb

No East European sprayers then Chris :D
Crops looks well if a little short but still plenty of time left
None yet Mind you, as far as I know none were ever imported.. Though Spraycare has some deal with Hungarian company Kertitox now.. \
I think it looks surprisingly well considering its had no fert I think that's a bit clever if it still yields something- no cost of the fert
It is very short, but it hasn't been on flag leaf very long at all and not even what most crops would normally do, just went so quickly... But short is good, less straw to dispose of and less lodging risk
Not a brilliant growing season for barley this year Sean - some even got flattened over here with the rain on Saturday - my neighbour has a 3 acre field and it will be impossible to cut about 2 acres are flat
Doesn't sound good about it going down
Lots of ramularia in barley here this year.
-
The Belarus couldn't hack the sprayer Chris :D
That boom looks much stronger than a Hardi
Sadly I don't have a sprayer \ The Douven is Dutch Taken over by JD when they decided they wanted some European sprayers
-
Now coming on ear, boots nicely swollen with some starting to split in places
Spray has done its work on thistles:

Hopefuly will give a pritty good sample now what with the fungi too Looks to be going well now after that rain
Hopefully
chris can i ask why dont you plough that center bit out i nthe filed give yourself a little more area to work with??
Simple answer to a simple question; purely because it's too wet as there was an old ditch there which has never been re-dug, and I don't want to spend the money to have it dug out when the I don't own the field. So I just make do..

MF 690 and Douven
-
Had it sprayed today for weeds, and a broad spectrum fungicide to keep it clean.
-
Chris does like it, maybe a lot But it's a bit big for me really until I get more land \
-
Excellent idea

Thanks John........Saw it coming up the field and was in my element........ ;)
Thanks Chris........They do it in the order of the pics, Cultivate with Triple K, Roll, Springtine with the Vaderstad and then Plant with the Vaderstad Drill........
Aye they roll them in the Twose is sitting at the corner of the field ready for tomorrow........Hopefully get up there again tomorrow morning........ :)
Thanks for that, seems a lot of work when they have a Rapid anyway I take it they were just trying to smash clods down as small as possible? Interesting to see though
-
Nice pics
They really do give the land a working, what order do they go in? cultivate, roll, sprintine, drill? Seems a lot of diesel But none the less makes interesting photos
Do they roll them in?

Frazier Agri Buggy - you do think nice Chris - I bet most are cheap as the pump of the sprayer is wrecked and the mechanics of those are not great
So any sign of the Forschitt E524 yet (lots of nice ones in dealers at the moment )
I was kind of hoping to find a nice Agri Buggy Or similar machine such as a small Chaviot or Lo-mark. That or just buy a 2nd hand mounted but I do like the light weight of the buggies.
No Fortschritts yet sadly- I think I would need a little bit more land to justify one
Not bad looking at all - we have a field of spring barley that was sown about the same time and it only looks about the same as that with fertilizer applied
Ah but this is meadowland that's had no real crop for 50 years until last year, well if you can call that a crop So I guess/hope there should be some nutrients left that hasn't been leached out yet \
-
A bit of an update, pictures taken two days ago though as it's been a bit wetter since
Looking good though I think, but sadly it's had no ferts or sprays yet.
-
Might be best to get some expert advice on it then Chris but I'd be pretty sure it won't make much of a difference - so have you a Eastern European sprayer for the 250 yet
It should be ok I hope No sprayer of my own yet, maybe do it myself next year if I can find something nice, I thought about a Frazier Agri-Buggy IID or similar as they seem to sell dirt cheap, especially at sales? \
Looking great with all those oldies on the field. I hope you have this year a good harvest.
Texas
Thanks

looks promising
