Very nice photos

nice tractor
its actually in real nice shape from my view point, has all the panels, orginal front tires??
thats a nice looking cab too, is that what they fitted in england to get round the regualtions??
Yep spot on with the tyres
The cab is a Fernmo Hytten from Finland, and indeed fitted to get round regs. The Fernmo was only fitted for a few years and then replaced by a taller Hara cab.

Will look good! What's the interior like?
In general not bad at all really, just the roof needs some attention, old foam gone powdery etc.
But should clean up nicely with new foam as well

SAME was family owned and i thought it still was
FIAT is a division of the italian gov at one point, or still is,
i thought argo was also funded by the italian gov
the 880 had two engines, the 880 (4pot) and 880-5 (5pot) the 5 cylinder was considered gutless compared to the 4
FIAT is a huge company, they may not have a tractor bearing there name and colours but there presence in the AG industry is bigger then it ever was, the upper management of that company are very cleaver........so is argo group, those guys realised that branding is often better then the product itself
Interesting the 5 cyl was considered bad Only ever heard good things \
I do think it's nice that most people who buy a Case or NH forget that they're really buying a Fiat 8)
-
....and the reason you like them so much...they're Russian :D
You found me out :'( :'( :

Great news really
Rostselmash is one of the largest combine manufacturers in the world
..and they even have a nice website: http://www.rostselmash.com

The majority of the Same and Fiat tractors from the mid 70's to mid 80's that were new around this area rusted out very quickly, freind of mine bought a Fiat 880 new in the early 80's and the panels were hanging within 2 years, he traded it in because of that, also the exhaust pipe rusted out within 6 months.
Same and Fiat belong to the same parent company. I was told that the panels rusted out very quickly because of the poor quality of steel that Italy was importing, something to do with their poor economy that resulted from the last World War as it left the country more or less in a 'third world' state.
Fiat is CNH, owning NH and Case IH While Same is SDF..
But the 880 was an excellent tractor, was his an orange or a brown beast? 5 cylinder?
