  1. Any way enough of grass cutters . Back to the tractor I have fitted the engine, it is one fron a siku 718,cut in half and fitted eather side of the chassis, then to tidy things up I have fitted the outer frame, so it looks like the real thing, most of this will be covered by the cab and steps, but it little details I suppose
  2. Yep stiga is one of our mowers, I cut large amounts of grass for a living, we use the stiga around the edges and do the large areas with a couple of bigger tractors with 62" decks. But I am about to trade the stiga PRo 25 in for a stiga titan...more money some of my kit on the trailor in my drive way......Yer yer I know it genn and yellow
  3. yer, I think we can be very english about tractors like this, we like tractors to look like tractors . same thing with lawn mowers, we have a stiga mower with the deck on the front and artic steering, fantastick thing, goes round everything and under all the bushes etc, BUT the dealer hardly sells any, every one buys tractors with the deck underneath, they can't get into the corners, and moan about turning circle, but they bought it as in there head it looked like a ride on mower should! If you look for xylons for sale there are loads in france, belgum etc, not found one in the UK. Anyway back to the model... engine fitted, chassis frame fitted around it. chassis close to ready for paint
  4. Hmmm yer the forestry one...even more stuff to cut off and throw in the bin
  5. top marks, and the wheels are the right way round now, lucky I spotted that haha What primer do you use? if you don't mind me asking
  6. Cheers mate, alway nice to have a compliment from the master .It's funny how many people realy don't like this tractor in real life , don't think I will get asked to build one for anyone, better start building those green and yellow things...people just love em I have another 515 on the way now so I can start to getting on with the cab. I hope to get the chassis finished over the next few days, I am just fitting the engine and a spool block attached to the steps
  7. bit more tonight, looked up at the time errm off to bed Not a lot to show ....but loads of work, rear part of body work is now fixed,Rr linkage is just resting, almost in the right place and spent tonight making up the tool carrier that sits on the back
  8. Yep, glaze that cab! they always look better. nice work
  9. As always ...nice, just watch and learn. .....but I have to say "Oi mate, front wheels are around the wrong way"
  10. I'm starting to get exited about how it will look finished, but also the amount of work needed on the cab is starting to sink in Oh and my wepon of choice was my airbrush, but now it's my minicraft with cutting disk, yerrr I'm lovin it
  11. bit more tonigt, few more bits on the front, some 824 wheels on the back and starting to weigh up how to get the back to sit and look right
  12. Not sure yet, I collect fendts,And I have a clean shelf in the display case, this may go on there, or just have the wheels done like the 718 I made,
  13. one with the wheel on a bit of workbench junk just to show the pivot
  14. few photos of tonights efforts, front axal fitted, mudgards fitted, wheels just in place to get things kind of right. I have stuck the cab on just to again get an idea of how things should look.
  15. cheers folks, yer Im realy enjoying this one, it's going to cost a mint as it will reqire 2xweise 515s but the challanges are great, I have a hay turnner to do next, then a scratch built Matbro TR200...I have a cunning plan baldrick and a diorama with a very posh hedge cutter for jez.
  16. I use clear plasticard....thin, as it makes it easier to conform to shape, also a lot of modlers use acetate,, like over head projector stuff all the windows on this fendt are made up with plasticard, exept the open door
  17. I agree, I have fitted a pma/artisan linkage and it took a fair bit of cuting and rebuilding to get right. But it looked ok in the end. Never fitted an agriscale so I'm not sure but it wouldn't take mutch for it to be better and easier to fit. I was fitting it to a wiking tho
  18. Well if the get any bigger pete stands a chance of slipping down the gap in the seat
  19. It's all a bit rough at the min, but i will make some welds up on the joints etc before paint, last a photo of the real one
  20. Then the front linkage, and the front casting of the 515 to get the front lights,Its not fixed yet, thats why they are a bit wonky.I will do this after painting the chassis Also a photo of the pivot I was after
  21. next the central spine, wheels and axal are just in position to get the hights right
  22. when looking through my old brochures i came across one for the xylon, I have never seen one in the flesh, but it's always a tractor that I have liked....so i thought I would build one for my collection as it's been a while since I have built a tractor for myself, and altho I do a lot of paint effects I do love building stuff So after being sold a siku one (Anyone who knows me will no how I love siku ) by a helpfull forum member, I thought I would make a slow start...well that went to pot as I reached into my display case for my 515c, that is now in bits as a donor tractor Ahhh :'( ordered a new one from barry tonight. Anyway a few hours later, and a few to many cigarets and cups of tea this is what I have done so far, I wanted the front to be as close as possible to the real tractor, so I chopped the front off the siku and started a fresh, I also wanted it to pivot like the real one to.
  23. God! even the seat and stuff in the cab look super sized
