The harvest has started on the farm I live on here in Berwickshire. The shots taken from an elevated position are from my study I was out as a passenger in the Ford but the light was going too much by that time hence only one poor shot. Hopefully some more pics tomorrow.

(Was in Trekker magazine last winter!)
Is this a mechanical version of trying to rub your belly and pat your head at the same time?

Some nice bits of kit there. I haven't seen one of those flails with a belt to carry the cut material to one side!

A very reliable company. Only had a couple of small problems, both of them mail related, so technically outwith their control.

Silaging at Samlesbury, near Preston 10 July 2010:
Zoom was cranked up near full to get these shots, hence not as sharp as usual!

I thought about it until I saw the entrance and parking fees.

we saw him today at the road run today and he's making a album for his grandson so we said can you make us 1 to since our machines are in it and he was'nt happy but he said yes.(wether we'll get it we don't know) \
The other side to a story like this is a photo I was a runner up with on here was printed out ready to be framed and sent to the owner with a nice letter, and I also sent a disc of images to another farmer and heard absolutely nothing. If I had it to do now...

I generally do not ask permission to take photographs although I tend to try and catch the driver's eye, give a thumbs up or a wave. Most operators seem quite happy and relaxed, although I have had the occasional guy who looks rather bemused. I certainly wouldn't enter a yard to take shots, or take images of machinery stored there.

Lovely photographs James of a very tidy and interesting machine.
I'll take some photographs of the Clayton brochure and share them on here (In my collection topic if you'd prefer James, wouldn't want to sabotage your thread).
No problem, feel free to post here - I'd be interested in seeing them!
-
what is this machine james?
Clayton C4105 Buggi - doesn't seem to be much about it on the interweb but it does seem to be able to carry sprayers as well.

Unfortunately, Blackbirds make such a racket when a potential threat is anywhere near the nest that it draws the attention of everything in the neighbourhood to it. This simply confirms that indeed there must be something worth a predator looking for!
It's also the Blackbird suicide season...they fly low across roads rather than above them...!

Sorry Sue, looks like a female Chaffinch to me.

After two years of saying I'm going to go and having not made it due to weather and other committments, I'm gonna make a serious attempt this year!
-
Still not sure whether I will go to this, Bill. To be honest it's lost its appeal after three years. Certainly, the viewing isn't the best and there could do with a bit more effort being put into the events and so on.
-
Many thanks for your opinions guys. Much appreciated.

I'll not now manage this weekend, Bill. Have a good time!

Finally (after two years albeit a little half-heartedly) caught up with Scottish Borders Produce pea vining. These shots were taken about a kilometre away from here and a few fields nearby remain to be harvested.
