no i havn't seen the 2 larger growers in my area growing any either as dillington estate usually has a dirty great pile by the sheds by the main road by now1 ,but there is one lifting fodder beet up the road fitted with a c-ih 1394

most popular choices on the single row machines were DB 885/990 > MF 135 > FORD 3000/4000, i have driven these except the 990 & 4000 also drove one with a IH 784 unit. the DBs were the better units as they had more gears MFs were always good for their lugging ability & the fords were ok if you could get them started in frosty wether

talking to a chap on tts the other night & he carpetfarms 1/16 & he's a corn farmer trouble is he said that 1/16 combines arn't made. Can you imagine how big a 1/16 combine would be ! About the size of the peddle tractor i should think !!

yeah although the set ups are pretty good i can't get used to seeing ?1/16 or 1/64 scale being used & i cant keep replying to my own posts here when you lot arnt on ,even found fp rolling around with a tumble weed this afternoon ! :D :D any way the hard work has payed off as some of them arnt stiff arses afterall ,as am getting some good replies & lots of questions asked about farming over here which is nice

1st Clarkson bought an ex-farm hilux >?1500 ; drove down steep steps = suspension fine drove into a tree = dented wing + smashed headlight tied it down to a causeway on the river severn at the irish sea entrance ,water rises 3m per hr , hi-lux takes battering in sea water for 2 hrs before ropes break & hi-lux dissapears. 8 hrs later, hi-lux found further down the beach full of sand ,silt & sea water within 20mins & lots of WD40 engine ,fires up after more than 10 hrs underwater ! Drop caravan from 20ft on it Driven through a shed Wreaking ball bashed into it Set it on fire When fire goes out on its own ,put the key in & the damn thing still starts & runs !

build a perpose built shed next to your workshop/studio. i;ve got a fair size garden & was toying with the idea of craning a 20x9 ish portacabin? for this very thing,in as you can find them quite cheaply or just slay the other giants :D
