  1. We had a Kuhn Ga821? until last year and it was about 8.2 meters, was a good rake and we had very little trouble, and we raked over 500 acres a year with it, and we had it 4 years! ;)

We now have a claas 2700 infront of the trailed set-up and that is just as good! ;D

  2. Lovely pictures me old mate!!! Very nice indeed, would love to run with a trailed gang once in a while  :)

Your welcome to come any time your up my end of the country Tris! ;D

Sadly i've dislocated my shoulder did it yesterday mountain biking  ;D

  3. Well all I can say is this... don't even think of logging on here Sunday night without posting a minimum of 10 images of this little lady Mr Harvey  >:(:P :P :-*

    Hmm i think there'll be alot more than 10 lord f ;D

  4. OOo... I have a real love of MF industrials... MF35 industrial is a rare machine... as is an MF240 (which was an MF20B) .. MF40 was a hard nosed MF135 really

Boss picked it up at a farm near Preston for 2 grand! :of

I still don't believe he paid that little for it as it is absolutely immaculate with 1004 hours on it 8)

    And I get to drive it this weekend!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D  I'll have a grin from ear to ear ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

  5. Mark... I'm sorry mate.. I missed this topic.. thanks for sharing some lovely images here buddy... you can guess which ones I liked best (although I liked all of them)..

The MF20 looks SUPERB... hubba hubba.. as does the 135 too  :-*:-*  .. I'm in love all over again  :-[:D :D

The 20 is soon to be joined by a mf 35 industrial and a mf 240 industrial, (I forgot what the number on it is, think it's a 40?)

  8. well yesterday i met tractor tim to collect his dung spreader for this years 2 hour marathon of horse manure dispersal, but didnt get any done as have a bobcat min-digger on hire to dig some holes for gate posts & get some ditching done  !

today i are mostly be sitting on said bobcat  :)

got to say compaired to the JCB we had last year the bobcat is quite poor, it all works fine but the 2nd beam isn't long enough. the jcb will let you pull stuff upto the dozer blade to clean up any soil, the bobcat is off the blade by about 2ft so a shovel has to be on hand to finish,  which is a tad annoying  :(

I can imagine! Dad bought a bobcat 2 years ago and then pu a quick hitch on it to see if he could make it reach the blade, he osld it after 2 months and got a case cs 16b! ;D

  9. my dad started out self emplyed with the family farms case 580 super m (1990)

and since then he's bought 15 machines (in total) and he now owns a group of 2 case cx 22b's about to be swapped for the 2011 cx 26b and a 2010 cx80 and then he hires out 2 volvo 8.8 ton machines and has 9 dumpers! most of them are on hire apart from 2 which are his for site use only! ;D

But since he started construction he started to miss the farming side of things so he bought a mchale fusion 2 baler 3 years ago and a JD 6920s and since then he's owned god knows how many tractors! He says the way to have a tractor is replace it every 6 months then the deprecitaion doesn't hurt you as much say 1 or 2 years down the line! the same with all his kit! ;D

  10. It's either that or i spend all my D.T lessons in the behavioural unit because i've fallen out with the new D.T teacher, then spend 2 afternoons a week with a load of people i don't know doing leisure and tourism, i would much rather cut wood up and still get 2 gcses out of it

True, but it's just very boring and easy, then when the end of year exam comes and you haven't covered anything in the test!  :-\

  11. Finding out i have a new D.T teacher, the last one was the most amazing teacher i ever had, he took time to explain things in detail, and knew a bit about farming so we often ended up chatting about how i was getting on at work! Unfortunately he started to lose his hearing and had to retire early, but this new bloke just moans, and does projects which are entirely pointless, I WAS going to take D.T for gcse, but now he's here i've dropped it and taken a construction college course instead, was just really annoyed about it because i was looking forward to doing D.T, but i'm quite happy to do construction now i've spoken to a few people about it.

JOSH WHAT EVER YOU DO DON'T DO CONSTRUCTION!

It's the most boring thing ever! you cut wood up thats it! or you lay 4 bricks or you measure abit of pipe! thats all you do!

  12. Here you go Mark. It takes place on the 15th and 16th of June. This is the link to the event's official website:

    http://www.cerealsevent.co.uk/

    Ahhhh perfect, cheers for that!

I was thinking it was the 13th of june, but was hoping it wasn't at the same time(got a maths gcse on the 13th), i'll most likely be travelling down with my dad and the lads from where i work!  ;D

Cant wait as i rarely see combines or much arable up here (CUMBRIA)  ;D

  13. Well today i went to the contractors yard to get a lift to the farm where we're silageing at today and both of the FX450 and the Claas jag 960 are'nt working till tomorrow when they're both on the same farm lifting 400 acres!

    So today i've seen

    New Holland Fx450

    Claas jag 960

Fendt 415 14 ton HORN silage trailer

JD6430 x3 14 ton HORN silage trailers (premium)

New holland T6050 (i'm driving it) 14 ton Horn silage trailer

And a New Holland T6070 driving a Mengele SH40n (thats what we're leading from today!)  :);D

    LOVING THIS WEATHER!

  14. i was told that fx 45 would be a better harvester than claas 960 at lifting grass. its very hard to believe as i have been  been with both workin and they re like night and day.is there anyone on the ftf would beg to differ.

This about what i was telling you?

get your self a ticket over for 3rd cut this year if you don't believe it! ;)
