  1. I have had the Imber Ford's on the shelf for a bit and I finally succumbed to the temptation to take them out of the box. I had intended to build a display, but I was a little disappointed with the build quality. I can hardly send them back now, and as the prices have been reduced I thought it right to improve it a bit. This is how it came out of the box, a little frustrating...
  2. I have finally stopped procrastinating about the rear linkages on my UH tractors, made a start on the 7810. I am just waiting on the paint, hopefully it will drive today. I have 4 other models to do, all different chassis colours so its going to cost a bit in paint...
  3. Theft from farms has always been a problem. When I was 11 (that would be 1987) the farm near us in Cumbria had a 6 month old Deere 2140 and that was locked in the shed every night along with the other machines. When the guys arrived for milking at 0500 the number plate was lying in the yard. It vanished, never seen again. Our local Bobby reckoned his team had likely past it been driven out of the county, and never batted an eyelid. A lot of the rural team in Cumbria spend all day chasing missing equipment, it rarely turns up in the county, and apparently it either ends up in North Africa or eastern Europe. The local Police are very thinly stretched these days, especially in rural areas, its not even a deterrent. There was a spate of gate thefts in January this year, and there was only one single man rural beat car in all the Furness area, the other 2 officers were off doing ethnic sensitivity training or some such, about 2 dozen steel gates went in 3 days.
  4. Cheers for that, they look very similar in shape.
  5. Was the AP cab (cheaper option on 10 series, and standard on the 'H' variants) not made by Fritzmeier under licence to Ford?
  6. I like it a lot. I would like a lot, lot more in Terracotta.... I have just picked up T7.270 Blue Power, and the finish had a fair few blemishes (like spilt adhesive) which disappointed me a bit. I also think the build quality was a bit iffy. I wont feel too bad about having it painted terracotta as I wanted to change the rear links, I will put some pics in a separate thread as £35 is a bit steep for a model that was not that well finished 'out of the box'.
  7. I was lead to be live at a demo day in August that in the next 12 months the Visio Cab will be an option across the entire range. I sat in the 724 and it really does make a difference to visibility, and unlike those crappy french cars with glass tops, this has a neat blind which you can pull down to stop your self from baking.... However, l had a look at some pictures from the Demo Day, this model seems to have unfeasibly large tyres, they look like flotations.
  8. Is this the new Fendt from Weise? I don't think they will be limited, likely there will be orange versions too. I like the new visio Cab, its totally practical for the intended use of this machine. Hopefully models with the loader will also be forthcoming.
  9. As with most brands these days, I think its just the rights holder wanting their cut. The Wagenhof models are fantastic, and were highly prized when they came out. If you look over some of the German/Dutch tractor forums there was a huge buzz when these models were first shown, which obviously CNH got wind of. Hence the reason I think Schuco produced an official 1455. Economies of scale predict that a Case 1455 should appear some time soon from Schuco (fingers crossed, cant bring myself to have the Wagenhof models weathered). I am sure if DBP Models was able to produce his top quality Massey models in volume, AGCO would be knocking on his door too wanting a slice of the pie....
  10. I got hold of a Wagenhof Case 1455 about six months ago, from a guy in Germany off ebay, it ended up costing me €260. I was sick as I already had the International, and I could of bought both models for €200 from Wagenhof when they first came out. I think the guys that made them were leaned on by CNH as the models were not 'licensed officially', so they stopped producing them after a few hundred of each.
  11. UH models have gone up in price, I would not have a problem with this if they had got rid of that god awful rear linkage. I have a few models that I have replaced with PMA type, and there are a few of these new ones that I really want, but I will have to modify them. Maybe UH might take heed of the FTF as RC2/Britains did....
  12. Im currently working in Vancouver, Canada and for the last few days I have been getting 'server not responding' and 'server unavailable' messages. Some times it loads fine and other times I get the error. The strange thing is the message is almost instantaneous, its like it does not even try to fetch and load page. I had a similar issue with my host before, it was a DNS conflict as when I Google it returns the page cache info no problem so it was obvious the site is up and running, as is the case with FTF. I hope that helps you a bit further.
  13. I see Imber have Highway Yellow coloured 5640 series up on their website, I think they have hit the shops as well....
  14. I did not get a chance on this occasion to take a picture of the front end, but I am certain it is a 1250 as it did have text and the silver flash decals which was obscured by the air filter housing. You can see the faded Massey logo at the front of the cab (sorry for the poor res, it was a phone camera) The door has some faded sign writing on it, of a contractor down Lincoln way, I could make out Stainfield, Nr (somewhere, possibly Wragby?), Lincoln which would tie in with the suggestion that the door could of been replaced. I could not make out the MF logo on the fuel tank owing to the crane hydraulic control pipes draped across it. I will be taking a trip that way with a good camera and hopefully some access permission! I would love to give this a new loving home, but maybe my wife would not be so loving anymore....
  15. Phwoarr! Now we are talking. Did MF buy the compressor unit on this model off the shelf or was it a full custom mounted unit made by another company (Atlas, Ingersoll, Broom & Wade)? I always remember playing around (read: pretending to drive) on a larger one of these when I was a kid and it had an Ingersoll Rand three stage unit with a huge air receiver. Where these also offered with the option of an MF loader?
  16. Im loving this conversion. Its a great job, well done. Im also liking the MF20D sales leaflet, I like the highway models MF made and I was after building something like this for myself with an MF loader or rear PTO mounted compressor. Can anyone tell me if the MF20D and the MF550 have the same Perkins A3.152 motor (I'm not sure it was this 47hp variant), and are they actually the same tractor?
  17. Was on my way to visit family near Barrow in Furness, Cumbria and for a change I came the pretty way, down the West Cumbria coast past where I used to live at Broughton. Just down the road from Broughton at a small village called Foxfield, I saw this old beast laid up in a farmers yard. I don't remember ever seeing one of these in the flesh apart from in a show at Holker Hall in about '81 or '82, despite drooling over it for many years. Unfortunately it was a little busy on the road so I could not get any better pictures. Big apologies to the guy in the Saunders wagon hauling feed, I did not mean to stop that hard and scare you to death last thing on Friday!
  18. Cheers Guys! I am currently a city slicker boy now, but due to family stuff I have been spending a lot of time back in Cumbria (Furness Peninsula) this year and I'm really got hooked back into spotting and seeing what kit is running on the old farms round and about where the family live.
  19. Hi all, My name is Dale and I like tractors, any tractors! I have been lurking for a good while, its taken me this long to get up to speed on what goes on in the forums. I am an engineer by trade, and I grew up in Cumbria hence why I am interested in farming machinery. I have found myself with a lot of free time recently so the old Britains models have come out and I have been having a go at making some of the models I always wanted but were never made, I will start getting some pictures up over then next few weeks provided I don't get called away to work. Cheers all!
  20. Somebody fancy making one of these if UH dont? I would certainly be interested in a couple....
