Well after some chats with John [844john] the replicagri 845 is not remotely close to a 885, but, sorry John 🤦♂️ i still went ahead to get it as close as my skills would let me, its to long but im not going to cut and shut it, so i have altered the front grill, not my finest work i may add, put gear sticks and handbrake on the correct side, removed the pto clutch as that was wrong. Also i have painted the cab roof grills, painted the fuel tank black, and added a driver. I have made the front weights removable, changed the exhaust, thanks to Justin for the adivce there, i need to spray the rear wheels and add a numberplate, i know it is not a correct 885XL but it will do, it could have been a 856XL but i never seen one down this way where i did see a couple of 885’S, your advice was not wasted John and thanks to Justin as well, picking up the paint for the wheels when it comes in this week
Good job on the front grill and lights Paul..

They might stretch to a Q cab 4610 Gen 1 after all these.. Anything is possible.

In my day it was only 10ft swaths. 😉
It was raked for Cronins FR to pick it up. But the opportunity arose to test out the TW on the Mengele for alittle fun.. The 30ft swaths were abit of a struggle.... but it managed.. 😂

I spent a day drawing away from a TW30/Mengele combo back in the 80s. The carting team was a pair of 5000s and a 6600 with a Michigan on the pit. DX85 on the mower.
It just about manged these 30ft swaths.. The Mengele choked on a few occasions.. The TW did feel the pressure alittle.

I certainly won't get all 13..😂 A Fieco cab 2wd 4000 and Q cab 4600 will do fine.. I tought a Fritzmeier cab might be done considering they were popular in Holland & Belgium... What will they go for? €200+ maybe... 🤔

Ok, first job and a fiddly one, there were no holes in the clevis so with a very small drill bit i drilled through the clevis and added a tow pin, i have in the pictures mocked up the wheels from the atlas ford 5000 and added the original tyres and mocked up the exhaust, this is if i do a 885XL version which i know wont be accurate, but i might be doing a 856XL
The rims look good now Paul. Did the Replicagri tyres fit the Atlas rims after? You have it close enough now.

Hi all,
At regular (Dutch) Toy Shops you hardly find any Britains these days, nor Ertl.
They seem to have lost contact with the countryside.........
However, some do have Bruder in their assortment!
BR
JanSmyths being the main toy retailer in Ireland have also stopped stocking Britains & Siku.. Instead it's all Bruder and budget NewRay sets. But I do think Britains shot themselves in the foot when they raised their prices.

I wished i had a FTF Ford 7000
You could make your own.. I did. All you need is an old Britains 5000,bonnet stickers,6600 rear tyres, exhaust and air filter bowl.
Job done.

Guys. No home built model is going to be 100% perfect. You can only try your best to alter/modify one model in to another and use the best /nearest thing to do so. They ain't nothing really out there to suit an 885 exactly. But the 845 is pretty much the best of what's available to give it a try.. Give it a go Paul. ...Its worth a try..

Britains should do heritage Nuffield massey 35 65 major dexter leyland ih ransom's combine [ just my wishlist ]
I agree 100%. The Nuffs & Leylands for sure considering none of the other main players look set to do them. UH done a 1/16 scale Nuffield before... Should be nothing stopping them doing a 1/32.. My preference will always be a Ford 4000/4600 in 1/32... Fingers, crossed Minitrac have them in the pipeline.. But they will be expensive.

Cracking pics John. The realism is fantastic, as are the models.

If back in the 1960s, Britains had (for arguments sake) chosen as it's two mainstay models lets say an IH B250, and a Nuffield 4/65, I wonder what the modern hobby farmers and tractor collectors scene would look like?
I'd say no different.. Because the Ford 5000 and MF 135 were the main sellers on the scale 1/1 😅 & Britains obviously took that into account when making toys/models then. Corgi done much the same with the 5000 & 165.. Ford and MF ruled the roost...

Very good series based on Agri Contractors around Ireland. Some of it is in the Irish language. But not all. Subtitles are there anyways for ye UK lads.. But worth a watch.

Save yourself the hassle and consider the Replicagri as SPN pointed out...
