It was dead easy to use. I used grey primer first and then got the desired effect first time. I'm David Croskery from northern Ireland.
Thats an awesome idea using grey primer. I used the same stuff and found it idea but had to use quite a lot of it as you could see the base board through it in very tiny gaps, but the primer would solve that problem.

Thanks for posting that info. Makes the sheds look really good with the tractors etc in them.

Thanks MandyFantastic - love the shelves and their contents
Yowzers I glanced at that last picture and actually thought it was real Great work, you must have eyes like a hawk for that detail!
Thanks for that! Been enjoying this project as its the first thing thing that I've made with good detail.

No worries Count me in for the next batch!Out of round bales now... someone bought the last lot
Will have square bales, shortly and another batch of round in a month's time, hopefully

You've got some great detail on your farm and I love the scenes you have created. Are you pleased with the straw bales as I was looking at getting some my self?
-
Thanks for that Ol!Awsome!

Sam. ... Top quality.
I'm really impressed mate. It's pleasing to see a finished project after your first few posts asking what to use. Brilliant, you must be well pleased with it?
Cheers Deere-est! I am absolutely rapt with how it has come out. Am looking forward to adding all the little details like the workshop and roller door now.
Here's the shelves that you helped me to make. Still have to give it a coat of paint.

Sounds interesting, never seen one before so that would be cool if could get a picture!Ahh cool. Well a tunnel i don't know whether you would be familiar with them but they run down the centre of a grain store, you can walk either on top of it or inside it hence the name of a tunnel, then there are small outlets all the way down each side which you attach a sort of piping to called ducting and then you tip grain on top of the ducting, then you blow hot air down the tunnel and it goes out of these outlets to dry the grain, you might have seen one before but if not i will get a picture when i am at work next.
-
That looks awesome mate! if you put a tunnel inside that and painted it grey that would be just like one of our grain stores, but it still looks excellent as a workshop and i like the little tool chest, is this going in a layout?
Thanks Josh. Great idea- never even thought of making it a grain store before, what do you mean by a tunnel? Nothing is stuck down yet so it is still an option.
I have got a Fujimi garage set made up so that will go in there as well. The shed is currently just for my carpet farm but will go in a layout when I eventually get time to make one

plastruct U channel for guttering
made this raised section for the workshop by covering MDF wood with cement and spraying it with water. What do you think? Do think it looks a bit to dark or should I make another one with something like pollyfiller?
Got to do the roller door, finish the workshop & add some decals, stickers etc.
Look forward to hearing your feedback and advice. What do people think is the best thing to use for lights inside the shed?
Happy to answer any questions you have.

Cut the card to size and glued it on the top an sides. Also I sanded the outside balsa wood frame to make it into a triangle shape.
-
Then I gave it a spray with silver paint.
Using 6mm balsa I made a rectangular frame to sit on top of the shed walls and to make it removable. I then stuck the five A frames on and stuck small lengths of balsa in between.
Pictures of the cladded roof to come next.

Hi everyone. As I expected, school has been taking over my whole life Luckily though, I managed to find some time over the holidays to get the removeable roof made.
First I made a wooden frame to make my "A Shaped" roof beams. Worked great as all the beams came out the same width, height & angle.
I have used Plastruct BFS-10 beams once again. The roof is 6cm high. I have made the wooden frame so that I can also use it to cut my pieces to the same size and on the right angle.
Next I glued the 2 pieces together and left her to set.

Thats great news that HLT is selling them. Is she selling the light or dark coloured bales? Also, is she going to sell the material you make them from in bags?
-
Awesome work so far! Always hoped someone would make one of these one day
-
Love it! The ford is a good match with the spreader too.
-
That detail is quite amazing!
-
That is a fantastic machine you have made! Can't wait to see it painted up!
-
Wow, I like the look of that! How much would you sell them for?
-
The ones I have seen are white and only couple of yellow ones, but I was wondering if a yellow one would look more interesting in a farm diorama?
-
Awesome! Can't wait for the pics!
