  1. Well yesterday was a first for me!

I have baled grass in all weathers over the years, at least thats what I thought.

At the end of last year there was still about 60 acres of contracted conservation cut and clear work left to do when the ground conditions got too wet to travel on.

The last trailer that we got out of a site was pushed from behind with 2 other tractors and a round bale int the grab! then we had to sort out the mess.

So with the ground just about dry enough and the need for 30 acres to be done by the end of march we thought we'd push on and get it done. Mowing and raking was ok but then it started to snow! First time ever that I have bales grass and snow!

  2. What a very interesting thought provoking piece of writing. I have to agree that it would be great to see a colour range of valmets again from Britains. I know that UH have done so recently but I decided not to purchase them as they didn't have the relevence or connection to the Britains models.

Just out of interest I believe that 500 of each colour 805's were made originally. How many boxed sets of all 5 colours do we think are in existence now?

I am lucky enough to have bought a set a couple of years ago.

  3. Here is my little bit of bad luck this summer.

No one told me that the overgrown gateway was infact a rather narrow bridge!

Was too close to one side and as the back wheel went over the edge of the bridge gave way. Luckily the mower resting on the ground and leaning against the tree stoped the tractor going any further. Couldn't get myself out as the mower was wedged on the ground and when i tried lifting it the back wheel came up further. Another tractor and chain soon had me out backwards with no damage caused thankfully

I've sent the pics to Classic Tractor, wonder if it will make it into the back pages?

  4. ok sean, going to make a start on a dio ,want to put some posts and wire in the background,so just wandered on the spacing between the posts, but i can do it by eye until it looks right

About 3 paces between posts for stock fencing or strands of wire is about right.

  5. Thanks for the review. It looks nicely finished - I did think about this but at €210 thought it was a bit expensive for me....

Yes it does look good, and I'm tempted but think with the price I might have to leave it this time.... If it had been made with the UK cab I would have happily got my wallet out straight away. Maybe in time he will make a UK spec DB in 1/32 scale.

  6. The new UH County will be around 45 quid i reccon. Not a bad price for a long awaited COUNTY. The old Britains Countys are making stuipd money on EBAY. Maybe the realise of UHs County 1474 might bring the value on the very unaccurate Britains Versions down a wee bit and the PowerFarm TWs alike. Ok so they were good in their day, but are a bit over rated now in my opoinion . I aint going to fork out 100 quid  for a Britains County,be it yellow or PF white. So i cant wait for the UH model. :P

  7. Nothing new with the MF 240 and UH!

DBP has been making one of these for a while!

So many masseys to choose from but lets choose one thats already being made by a small uk model maker (and a very good one at that)

I personally think UH models are great and have lots of them in my collection, BUT is an independant model maker like Dave really a threat to UH? I think not SO LEAVE THEM ALONE and get on with coming up with some original ideas and make good models of them!

  8. Can anyone help me with some details about the real tractor please.

I have built up a catalogue of all my models. There is a page for each one with a photo of the model and a photo of the real tractor and details about each.

So far out of all 250 models this is the only tractor I can not find much info about.

Details that I would like are...

    Engine make

    Number of cylinders

Number of forward and reverse gears

    weight

    Lift capacity

    Length

    Height

    Turning circle

    Thanks in advance

    Cab noise level

  9. Those pictures are just what I have been looking for on the internet and could not find!

Thanks very much for posting them.

I have a catalogue of all my models with info about model and real tractor and also a photo of model and real tractor. The only 2 models that I have not got exact real pictures of now are the 2 Britains Fiat halftracs
