  1. Have just spent about 20 minutes looking at the internet but cant find what I want to know.

Hope someone here can enlighten me.

I know that it is the top of the range electronic control system but what does CEBIS stand for and what are its main functions?

  2. Stunning cabinets. Bought? Commisioned? They are lovely. How come the house purchase took so long?

The Cabinets haved come from different places over the years. From the 3 matching tall cabinets two were bought about 8 years ago for £350. I then found another matching one on ebay a couple of years ago for a bargin £50.

The smaller cabinet that is sitting on the chest I made.

The larger floor standing cabinet was purchased last year from ebay for £180. When I have filled the top of this cabinet I will Replace the bottom doors with glass ones.

It took so lonk to buy this house due to being messed around by the vendors! At least we got there in the end!

I am happy to have them all out on display at last.

  3. Time for an update seeing as the collection of tractors has grown to just over 200 and the have moved house! We bought a new house in september although we put an offer on it in January! Since we moved in I've been busy decorating and changing a few things around but have eventually got to a stage where I have been able to move and display all of my tractors. The best thing is I now have space for plenty more tractors  ;D

    Here are some pictures....

  4. Ok thanks for that but I'm still slightly confused!

Also I forgot to mention that the 5000 that I've just got is the version with the Fieca cab.

Looking in David Pullen's book he suggests that there are two versions of the Fieca cab Ford 5000.

1973-1975 with exhaust close to the cab and a paper decal on the grill.

1975  exhaust moved to front of bonnet and it had a 6600 style grill although the 6600 tractor seemed to be released a year later in 1976.

Both these versions are said to have steer o matic steering.

As far as I can tell the one I have does not. How exactly did this system work? Is it obvious or am I missing something?

    Any more ideas?

  5. I'm after a little clarification on the early version of the 5000 tractor.

I have just got an un boxed ford 5000 in very good condition. It is the early version as it has the exhaust near to the cab.

I thought all of the 5000 were the steer o matic type. However on my tractor the steering only seems to work from the steering wheel. As I have not ever held a steer o matic 5000 I'm not really sure what I'm looking for.

    Any ideas greatfully received.

    Thanks

    Richard

  6. Have just opened my copy of Classic Tractor and was very suprised to see the 'Alien Themed' Ford TW 30 on page 13.

At the start of this month we went camping in the peak district and at the end of a walk we did I spotted a strange colour tractor over a fence so I had to investigate by climbing a little way up a tree armed with my camera, see attached picture.

I have been meaning to send the image to Rory at CT and asking him to publish it to find out more as it seemed very different. Now I know! Thanks Rory and I look forward to any future articles about the tractor.

  7. superb mate, lovley pics, are the figures 1/50th as they seem a little tall against the container??

Yes the figures are supposed to be 1/50 from Preiser but there could be a slight discrepancy in either their scale or my measuring but I'm fairly happy with it. I will measure things again though!

    Look brilliant Richard!!

Did you make the portacabins or buy them...?

Are those the prieser  :-\ figures??

I have built the skips and portacabins from scratch using plasticard.

WOW, can you tell me where you got the furniture from or did you build it?

The office furniture was purchased in kit form from EMA model supplies. I am going to make some computer screens and telephones etc to sit on the desks next.

Next on my list to do are several portaloos and another storage container this time with opening doors.

At some point I will have to try to make things look weathered and used, a bit of practicing first though.

I am in the process of trying to buy a house at the moment and if it all goes ahead I will then have some space to start making a muddy demolition site! ;D Not sure what the other half will think though!
