  1. Good luck to anyone getting there this morning. The A46 was particulaly busy and heard on the radio that a lorry caught fire on the A1, luckily i was going the opposite way!
  2. Fantastic! I really admire how you've researched the tractor when you've restored it, there are as you say many 35s and 135 that have new parts thrown at them to make them look shiny and it has become a little repetitive seeing them all at the shows but yours is brilliant. I have a cropmaster that is currently 8 years into its restoration but waiting to get it all right first and seeing all your pictures certainly encourages me to get on with it. Lee
  3. Universal hobbies are really getting some life out of their injection moulding tools with these fords aren't they! Lets hope with the new nuffield in 1/16 a Cropmaster wont be too far away, i'm itching to get my dremmel on a few of those!!
  4. Snap the head off a triangle profile file Thanks for pictures of these masseys, its good to see models upclose that i probably wont be adding to my collection. Lee
  5. wow :o the work you've put into that really shows! Love the stickers you've put on the chassis it really sets the model off, I've got a 1690 and I think you may have spurred me into action!
  6. Hopefully it will inspire a few more DB conversions to appear I've got four more DB models on the go (and dozens planned) so fingers crossed they will get done slightly faster than this model. Thanks for all your kind words Lee
  7. here's a picture from the front. Just the wheels and front axle were from scaledown. The exhaust and air cleaner are made from brass, as is the pto cover. The chassis and bonnet were cut down 6mm to try and get it looking right. I'm going to convert another 1412 to a 1210 for a friend and he was thinking of adding a loader and rear digger but hopefully this will be made slightly quicker than this one!
  8. Ooops! Will have to get that painted! I was tempted to go all out and add interioir decals, windscreen wipers and dash detail but i think they'll be done on the scaledown 990 as there is a lot more to go at. Thanks for all your kind comments Lee
  9. Well after more than a year amd a lot of cluttering up my work area its finally finished! It has a fully glazed cab, rear curtain and removable exhaust and air cleaner. Heres the images... Hopefully now this is out the way I can get back to my scaleddown 990's!
  10. Is your stock old? I've found milliput tends to go off after a while, the oil seeps out of either stick and even if you kneed it really well it will never go properly off. If not just get two equal sized lumps and kneed for two or three minutes and you shouldn't have any problems Lee
  11. Can't wait to see this as the project develops, loving you work.
  12. Wow!!!!! That looks fantastic! Love the snow chains, great detailing. Would like to see the your other model if you have the time.
  13. Hi erik The spacing is 96 inches which is just under 2.5 metres to the centre of each wheel. I'm sure a few gateways would have been clipped with the addition width. Lee
  14. Paint came from Scaledown models and sets the model off a treat compared to the washed out original colour of the UH model. The rear axle castings were drilled out and fitted with brass tube, this then takes a smaller sized brass tube onto which the rear wheels are mounted. This allows for ease of postage and other rear wheels could be made and easily added to the model. A few little bits to finish and It will then be packaged up and will be winging its way to the netherlands. Cheers Lee
  15. Evenin' All Here's the latest conversion to be cleared off the desk of mine. It was chosen by stehos on the forum and was excellent in providing pictures for the project. The base model was a UH 1/16th Fordson power major and was soon stripped back ready. The front wheels were finally made from turned down wheels from a UH ford 5000, the tyres were made from modelling foam on a lathe. The front axle was in the end made up mainly from a cast of a mcdonalds McFlurry spoon handle. This was packed with body filler and the machined down.
  16. ......and after a very late night/morning on the day of the show it looked a little like this. The canvas roof was made from a pair of tights (not mine!) layered up with pva, I'll be doing another roof soon for another model so will be happy to do a tutorial if anyones interested. The wood inside the cab was sourced from the darkest depths of Leicester train station from the cafe there and is infact coffee stirrers. I've still got a little left to do such as model a couple of wing mirrors, windscreen wiper and the rear hitch but I was happy with the outcome. Cheers Lee
  17. Cab The exhaust manifold had to be heavily modified to make it resemble a straight petrol unit. UH didn't model anything under the vapourising heat shield on the stock manifold so it all had to be made up. Heavy duty drawbar fitted. I also modelled a horn to fit next to the headlight.
  18. Mornin' everybody. As jack (stehos) has asked for some photos of the model i thought I'd better crack on and get some up! The project was started on the 28th of feb after a great deal of deliberating! (this could have been a dozen or so other tractors). Despite the large amount of time from start to finish i work quite a way from home and don't drive. As a result i leave the house at 6 in the morning and don't return until 9 at night (good old British rail network for you!) so the project only got worked on during the weekends and the occasional bit of modelling on the train. The inspiration. The fun begins!
  19. very nice, that 1412 looks like the bees knees with those big wheels on her. I'm going to have to crack on with my 995, I too have painted the inner sills of the cab windows, it gives a very nice effect of the original rubber. I'm foolishly trying to fit mine with styrene windows though....a very lengthy and laborious task!
  20. What a bargain! If I read the serial number right (10678) shes from march 53' time my info only goes up to 11000. If its 16678 it looks like its from 56-57 time according to this chart. http://dbtc.co.uk/index.php?module=Content&func=view&pid=145 The engine is a 3 5/8 bore type so would be a 30c engine. Have you got any plans for her?
  21. Has any one any idea what the roadless e27n is going to be? Is it going to be the half track, or following on from the latest county releases, a equal wheeled machine?
  22. It looks so much better positioned the way you have it but why they modelled the tread going the other way I will never know. Despite that it is nice, I have number 505
  23. Managed to get a Doe Show edition 130 after wrestling with DHL for a while. Awesome model and superbly presented, just a bit bemused why the modelled the base as though the tractor was reversing toward the plate with the model number on. It comes with two different air pre cleaners which is a very nice touch.
  24. How strange I was working on the decals for it last night and hope to get her finished in the next week or so. I'm still glazing the cab out, I've been tempted to put the original glass back in but I think I'll stick at having individual glass panels. Have been working on a 1/16 model for a chap on here so the David has taken a bit of a backseat. Cheers for the interest! lee
