  1. I'd had a few secret liasions with a 6180 in my past. .... but to be raking up in one and later on, hauling peat. .. I was happy as larry. The one on the peat pulls like a train mate, no joke. I think I am having the 6290 soon though which I'm not over happy about, I'd rather have the old Maxxum 5140 than that, my opinion could soon change though. I'm happy enough on the old 80 though, she has the biggest trailer with triple super singles on all corners so the resistance in the peat in pulling effort is unreal but she still bores on like. The other have more ponies and smaller trailers on dual terra-tyres, much less effort. Goes to show the old 80 is a beast even now.  ;):)

Thats my girl, the good old 6180 :D :D They do pull pretty good I must say, must be a decent Perkins in that series :D Mine can handle an artic full of silage bales pretty well and theres some weight on that especially when theres 0% DM in them! I just wish the gear sticks were arranged a little better than were they are now. I think you'll be happy with the 6290 if our Case 5130 is anything to go by, the old 51's aren't the best pullers in my opinion. The 5140 has the turbo though which our 30 sadly lacks, I think thats half the problem a nice comfy tractor though none the less more so than the MF's in my humble world. Glad your enjoying it mate :);)

  2. For me has to be either a Case 956, 1056, 1455 or 5130, as these are just true classics and will always be!  :-*

I'm with you on all of those Will ;) We have the a 956XL Turbo and the 5130 and like you say are both classics in the making and they both sound great too :P :P I have a real soft spot for the mammoth Case 1456XL though, that bonnet is like a runway and the power and torque is crazy. Would love to own a mint one, one day  :P :P :P

  3. Will all that muck kill the grass Nath  ??? - Will you have to send something in there when it dries out a bit to sort it out mate  ???

Not really no marky, will probably make it grow even more :-\. It should be barley stubble but bloody grass always seems to takeover :-\, were not arable farmers in Derbyshire ::). It will all get sprayed off with roundup later in the year and then we'll be in with discs to try and level out the ruts I keep making, then we'll need you and your great fanny to plough it ;) and then I'll try and get some IRG seed in, but if the boss gets his way it will be back to growing cereals :D :D

Been spreading muck in the same field again today, thats the only one thats dry enough for us to get in without really making a mess. Must of had about 30 load and it's only 7 acres :o :o :o

  4. Thanks Nath, these machines are designed for broadcasting small seeds but i could probably make a drill up suitable for beans if i set my mind to it ;):)

Cheers, If you can do that before the euro maus and rexius twin that would be great Gav :D :D ;) ;)

what is it with you & beans nath ? i thought you had a siku cultivator fitted out with a bean hopper & tubes ?

I just love beans, don't know why just do ::) Plus NC farms grows thousands of acres of them so need to be on the ball ::). Only have a little Kverneland cultivator drill that could be used for beans, only siku cultivator with pipes etc is that slurry injector on the joskin :-\ :-\ ??? ???
