  1. thanks for the replys ,the buildings are made from 6mm mdf ,i try to mitre corners for better finish , i just use standard pollyfiller apply this to the buildings with a 1 inch putty knife some areas thicker than others with this type finish if i do brickwork i try to get to get it smoother , then i use some special tools a cocktail stick and a 3 inch nail to scribe in the effect i want , sometimes you have to wait until filler has started to dry out a bit trial and error , then leave to dry then brush to clean any loose bits of ,then i paint on neat pva to seal the filler leave to dry ,paint the colour you need .then i get a small brush and in the groves that you made with the special tools paint in neat pva and i add concete dust for cement [ i do a lot of concrete drilling with my work and with my anorak on i collect the dust that i make it is cheaper than the packs of scatter] but painting will give you same effect  hope this helps a bit  ;)

  2. thanks for replys ,mandy that is not the water trough it is the feed trough but like you say does look like algee ,it is just scatter mandy

    been doing some more the old barn we had to put up old grain bins made out of weldmesh and tared paper ,i thought it was time to change this ,found some grain bins that where used in a seed plant down menheniot brought them back to kestler and with some cutting we got them to fit in the barn with some elevators and walkway ,got to put in roller mill ,still got some more to do but a few pics

  3. still running the other tractor we brought of you mark , wood wall sean is used in packaging normally on e bay it comes in differant colours but mainly straw colour there is brown and green that i know ,i mixed mine with brown for the dung effect ,it does need cutting fine thou ,

  4. thanks painter mark and tris the name kestler is just out of the air tris cracking job he made of the tractor the strw the animals are lying in is what they call wood wool looks a bit like the real stuff i thought ,i have made some more animals just getting up moved some legs around and heads with the heat gun but just put the animal in a bowl of cold water and hold it in position and it will stay there have a go ;)

  5. a few updates was after another tractor for the straw chopper saw in M D FORDS advert that they had a smart looking john deere 2wd 3050 thouught that would suit are needs cracking tractor

    not up to the man s standard that paints the cattle at toytrac from bruton but i painted up some cattle like  south devon s also got the heat gun at the bulls and made them lay down

  6. from the sale of beeches farm ,we brought kestler farm in cornwall 200 acres grass,48 acres cereals for feed for 87 pedigree south devon cows plus followers,plus stock bulls ,all youngstock is fattened and sold in local markets and some heifers and bulls are sold at pedigree sales ,also have 135 suffolk pedigree ewes plus 4 stock rams also sell all lambs fat , we do most of the jobs on the farm ourselfs we share forage harvesting and combining with neighbouring farm ,also do farm b&b

  7. very sad my brother in law was talking with the farmer this morning ,he was overcome with fumes the last thing he remembers was telling the head cowman to get away ,but he was overcome with the fumes and died ,,they was trying to save the student but sadly he he died to from drowning they think very sad

  8. that looks smart john ,sorry about the other night having to go , have your floors come out ok sometimes with the firbres they stick up through the top , are you cutting the panels with the motor saw ,he was a long way from home john ,tyson burridge was yours made in cumbria its normally a longtown firm bring ours down , that will make a proper yard for the cattle  ;)
