Planting winter carrots on ex spud ground ready for a spring harvest.

Winter carrots are a very high risk crop due to the fact they are drilled in winter,but offer a high return if you can get them to grow because the market is short of carrots in the spring.When you have a very high input system you must push massive production out of your ground to stay a head,winter carrots are good because the ground is back growing another root crop asap.

It's been very wet of late and today was the frist day out planting,going by amount of smokes the boss was having today the stress was on to get the crop in and up and growing.

I can hear the beast already  ,looks much beter now TM.

Thanks texas next time I drive the 5150 we some times have on loan at work I'll remember to smile like a kid with candy.

They are popular over on the continent and with buisness that run hundreds of acres as can have a large hopper capacity and more rows etc as you wouldnt have a 4 row mounted be to much weight even claas's 12 ton linkage would struggle

Grimme will sell you a GL34KG 4 row planter with dry fert box in real life.Comes in at just under 6 ton when full in real life. :)

Thats what my german mate said aswell.He was drilling with an amazone combi seeder and said he had a devil of a time keeping a good line with it,after 3ha he took the MB-trac of the drill and put his old renault on the drill.
