  1. unfortunately our school doesnt go on that trip anymore, probably because of the messers mucking about!!!

the Ulster Tower is the replica of the Helen's tower in ulster which is 10mins away from me :o the 36th Ulster Division men trained at Helen's Tower before going to the somme, so they built the Ulster Tower to remember them ;) sorry i loved history at school, wish i picked it for a GCSE :-\

Ohh there was plenty of messing about don't you worry just in the day we respected things etc. And yeah its a 1/3 scale of the real tower  ;) We didn't stop unfortunaetly but we learnt so much. Im doing it for GSCE, but were not doing WW1 at the moment it just happens they do the trip now  :)

  2. Last night i got back from a school trip over the weekend ( hence my abscence ). I've been staying at Eypres in Belgium from Friday to Saturday, we went to lots of famous WW1 sites such as Essex Farm, Tyncott, German war cemetries, Menin gate etc. Then yesterday we drove to the Somme, went to the Somme, Ulster tower, etc...

So was a real eye opener and quite a laugh with my mates at the hostel  :D

  3. I can understand the reason for the price due to casting etc, which is still reasonably cheap for some casted models. I have put possibly, it is an excellent model don't get me wrong but unless i can sort my diorama out something that wouldn't be top priority until the finishing touches. But if i had ?30 going then yes  ;)

  4. I was guna say Simon, how much did that dinky MF cost at the last April show cost? Was more than that for about four times as much model  :-\ ?4.99s a bargain  ;) Not quite my cup of tea however

  5. Why do you think that Nick? They're just re-making tractors which worked very well, (e.g. the 35x) at a fraction of the cost to make, as the tooling was all available from MF. Horses for courses though mate, I know it doesn't have the appeal for collecters over here, but abroad where they're much more affordable, you'd struggle to find a better tractor of this type. Even in the UK there is a market for them, with I know of 4 within 10 miles of here, not suprisingly in the equistrian market as you get a good spec'd up machine with a warrentee as opposed to a 40 year old machine with risks. But personally I'd have a MF due to its pure charm and character. :);) ;)

Oh no, i've got no problem with the tractors in real life, they're quiet 'convenient', some great tractors being remade its a great idea. But just the idea of a model of one  :-\ I doubt they would go down very well, i expect the vast majority would want to see an MF :-\ ??? But i have no objections of one being made, i just don't think they would be a very good seller  :-\

  6. Just been looking at this model, looking at photos i thought to myself pah wont be getting that, but looking at some more detailed pictures it looks to be a superb model. Will definetly be on my list, liking the opening rear windows and doors, hopefully something UH will pick up on  :)
