  1. Bought a Big X today so I thought Id take a snap of my choppers. The only other ones I have that are missing from this pic are the britains jag 690 with grass & 690 with kemper head, and the ertl JD chopper. I have a rather large collection of allsorts of models, but they are all packed away in the closet of my parents place 5 hours drive away However these babies are close to hand:
  2. look at the TW beside the NH on the end, can you say overscale?? Im sure it would not be that must taller than a TW series would it? Mind you the TW's were pretty long low things...
  3. a mate of mine did the harvest in america last year, and i looked at his pics the other day. He was working with a team of these combines, and they ALL smoked like this. I thought it was strange, he said the boss never seemed to make mention of it, its just what they did... Still ran ok but smoked like chimneys.
  4. good stuff nice collection mate Where do you buy your models down there? I get most of mine from Jeremy at model barn up here.
  5. racing commentator "John deere in front by a swath, charging hard is lexion delight, doing the hard yards on the outside..." Thats an impressive sight
  6. wow that is an outstanding piece of kit... pity it wont arrive here in NZ for another year at least
  7. Ah yep ive heard of him I dont know of many contractors in that area, but I know of a few up here in the waikato if you feel like venturing north for a stint. One good one up here is John Austin, biggest contractor in NZ. He is right into the GPS and trials a lot of new gear for John Deere. How long are ya over here for?
  8. best soil depends on who you ask mate ha ha!. The soil where i am in the waikato is pretty top notch. Its about an hour and a half north of where Alan is. Mainly a peat/loam type soil, very fertile. But farmers down the south island will tell you theirs is best probably, its ranges so much throughout even within short distance
  9. Looking at those pics I thought to myself "hey that looks like here in nz" so i read back and lo and behold... Which contractor are you working for down in turangi mate? You should try getting down to the upper rangitikei those boys will show ya hill work And hope you enjoy your stay!

  12. Hi guys Sorry if there has been a topic on this model before, I did a quick search but found nothing. Just wondering how rare this model is: http://cgi.ebay.com/OBSOLETE-Britains-Claas-Jaguar-690-Kemper-Crop-Head_W0QQitemZ300035473032QQihZ020QQcategoryZ117196QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem I have one sitting in my cupboard here in little old New Zealand bought not long after they came out. I went thru hell to get my hands on one and even then i had to give my left nut away. Were there many produced at all? I have never seen many around...
