You'll get to see them... eventually (the first one is in my farm topic now), the second one is....a secret (at least for now) and once they are done, there will be a more traditional one but I'll say no more.

keep it simple!!! ;D
Now that's what I like... Unfortunately things aren't usually...

Well, it's been a long time since I posted any pics of the farm, so here goes. I didn't like my old cow shed (the dairy one)so I decided it was more than time for demolition A new metallic frame building (garret style) has been put up, the tiles for the milking parlour have been mostly put down (I first tried with the glue gun as it said on the packet and made a real mess of it, all those need re gluing, so then I spread some pva over the base and it was near perfection ) The wall that supports the frames has had all the bricks carved on it one by one. I have layed a bit of mud in the field next to it and the slurry tank is under way.
So here is just a taster pic (all the others I took are rubbish because of the poor light up there) :
I'll try and take some other more detailed ones (it doesn't help that I'm always shaking when I take the pics, because of the funny positions I get into to take them...)

Build a shed!!
I already have two on the go... to test these on (and other things...)
-
Add a brown to that list.
Would "fiat terra cota" be right?
-
normally it should be mild steel, but this may vary

quite a simple machine really, just a press.....
It does seem like a simple thing to build (that's what i thought before I got stuck into it) but adjusting and welding 2X2mm steel section is not a walk in the park... but it might be easier to build in pvc? I onlywork with steel because it's stronger and you can weld or solder it. What are the advantages of pvc?

I can do sheets any size really but the press is only 4cmX20cm so if I do bigger sheets it will mean more lining up to get it right but on the other hand it also means less cuting \ I could have standart size and then (being as the client is always right) I can do a different size or length or width. Thanks for the link it's very intersting (for me at least...) What do you think about exact 1:32 replica of the price?... ...I think I will have to step away from realism... What colours are most common in England then? Over here it's green and white, sometimes brown/red.

Whar about just putting primer on?
-
I see what you mean, I think these sheets fold quite well (i've tested on one) they hold the shape and are quite easy to fold,(perhaps mayby even easier than corrugated cardboard? I'm not sure..) espacially if you fold them on something that has the right shape like an oil can or something like that.

I have been madly wondering about the curved ones, you would need something like those rollers, in metal. I wondered wether by rouding of the edges of the teeth on some gears and putting them on a frame it would have the same effect? Is this worth the work given the price of a ready made roller?

that sounds like a pretty good idea
Offer n°1 (plain roofing sheets) : 90 cents per sheet.
Offer n°2 (painted roofing sheets) : 1£10 per sheet.
Discounts
If 10 are bought 1 is free
If 20 are bought 2 are free
If 30 are bought 3 are free
and so on...

I have not yet decided of a price. I do not wish to sell them as ripp-offs so I will try and keep the price down without loosing any money myself. So would it be better if I paint them or If the buyer paints them himself? This factor will obviously have an inpact on the final price. I think many discounts will be available if a lot ar ordered. The standart width is 40mm and the length can be up to 20cm. I have spent many hours getting the "machine" right, so that to will have an inpact on the price. I think for a roofing sheet of 40*200mm painted in the desired colour it would work out at about (am I allowed to put price up then?) but this may change depending on prices of paint... I may be able to make these in exchange of drink cans (only the steel ones) plus price of paint.

Yes steel would be heavyer but it would also be stronger, therefore less likely to snapwhen you shape it (i've snapped 5...). I think it is of this you are talking? roofing sheets
I will also be using recycled steel drink cans but I don't have any at the moment so I used some aluminium sheet.
-
This one is made in aluminium but in future they will be made from steel.
here is how they are made :

I'mnot a pro, but i'm making a machine that will make roofing sheets. It should be finished by the weekend. I will make them for anybody that wants them. I should be able to do the plastic transparent ones aswell as the metal ones.

Oh and an air brush............
What make did you get? What model? Do you run it on a compressor or on cans? I run mine on an air tank that I fill with the compressor.
-
Just in case you're in lack of inspiration :
My advice would be to bash it about a bit on the side and front with a hammer and rounded end punch (or body workers hammer) scratch it a bit, stick it in a bag with oxygen and air, if you're lucky it will rust otherwise you'll have to use "mig pigments" or paint.
-
thanks everybody, I will be using it on my converted mc 115 with a loader on the front and that on th back (the tractor now has a nearly finished scratch built 3 point linkage)

If anybody is made of money, here are some more than descent looking trees :

I would say nails. I would leave a bit of round nail and then file the rest of the nail down to look like "tines" (square....ish).
