see what you think had this turned down by a herdsman whos hobby is woodturning bit of a problem with this one though if i can stop it cracking it will be fine this one was from ash but not dry enough i should think :o

the ash has been stored for a long time rhys but was fine outdoors but the heat indoors it just went he made me some bedside lamps which are fine out of bolted beech for me   :-\

How about glueing timber together then turn it , that want i have done and did not split.  smaller planks would be dryer to. i did a nice big bowl years ago. must get back to wood turning.

you must get back to it mark as i say herdsman done this one never turned anything (only the door knob) so have not got a clue but i just told him the size and he come up with it which is very good if you see it mate he said he can put ridges in them like corrugated tin ones . have a go coxy if it helps you that is fine by me

yes i must my lathe is at mums will turn 3 foot round bowls and has a 5 foot bed.  apple or pear , fine close grained woods would be best for the corrugated ridges.  very nice to work with

Right, that is done, now, what is the next shed being built? I thouhgt sharon wanted that room back??

been trying some new bins no cracking this time just a quick spray they look better than the pics show  :-\ see what you think

You've cracked it, Graham! Oh now why did I have to go and say a thing like that?! ::):D

They look good boss. They'd suit a sow house, chicken shed or a dairy. I can see plenty of uses :)

cheers tris still a few things to get right but on the way ,maybe i thought give them an undercoat first should get a better finish , the ribs sean i just added with a small chiesel as i was turning them on a pole lathe,
